Is there someone insane enough where they're speedrunning sword a bunch for the legendaries, trading them, and starting over? I need to somehow obtain Zacian and Type: Null and i've got no loving clue besides dishing out 400 bucks for another console set.

for the box legends you typically just trade with somebody then trade back so you both get it, obviously you've gotta trust the person or have Zama in which case nobody is gonna steal your legendary if it means losing the sword dog lol

Type: Null isn't release specific is it? That's at the battle tower, one of the NPCs

if you're going for a living pokedex it gets more complicated

Getting those berries as rewards when we can't even plant them in game is beyond stupid.

either get a whole 2nd device and game, hold out until hacked ones appear, or if somebody you know irl has the other box legendary wait for them to get bored with the game and ask them to trade it to you since they aren't gonna be playing anymore

I believe you'll be able to transfer Pokemon Go mons into Home which should make a lot of older legendaries easier and cheaper to get but it's gonna be awhile before Zacian or Zama are catchable there

A person in the battle tower will just straight up give you a Type: Null

This is a pretty specific solution, but if you know someone IRL that has Sword, you and they can each make throwaway profiles on your switches, speed run to the dog, and trade with each other�s main profiles. You could maybe do this with someone online if you trust them and are willing to buy a month of Nintendo online for your throwaway profile, but I�m not sure because I did it in person over wifi.

You can get to the post game in about 13 hours by trading over Pokemon from another game that are near the obedience limit (which is much higher than the catch limit.)

There is no way it'll take 13 hours to blaze through the story.

Like speedruns are already at about the 4 hour mark. Even a casual player could get through in like 7 or 8

Farming the championship for fashion ball is loving terrible made only slightly less terrible after hyper training a Dracovish that can now 1 shot basically everything you can encounter.

So does hyper training retroactively make their stats as good as if you'd got their EVs in before levelling them or ???

I raised a jolly moxie Gyarados to 100 with exp candy after stuffing a bunch of vitamins into it and it pretty much just solos anyone who pops up on random linked battles, which is all I ever really wanted out of pvp.

Edit: google says it just modifies the IV, so I guess I still want to hatch a level 1, stuff it full of vitamins and level it and THEN hyper train to fix the bad IVs?

Iirc EVs are updated after each battle, so you don't have to hold off on leveling.

You want to hyper train sparingly because the resources for it are rather rare. I see it more for your legendaries, pokemon you played through the game with and are attached to, etc. that sort of thing. It's a last resort. If you're hatching fresh better off grinding for good IVs from the start.

They are certainly legendaries where I actually am into using them, and I haven't felt attached to a legendary since Raquaza.
