There it is, the true drive of the Star Citizen's fanbase "What would you prefer, a actual game, or a dream where you can do anything?" Or perhaps more accurately "A dream where I can do anything". I think a lot of them have subconsciously realized that there's no way that whatever game CI

echothreealpha posted:Just wait until next gen hits, and their realisation that games on next gen consoles have better quality graphics than Star Citizen. I find current gen more than adequate and comparable to PC. I was having a discussion with a PC master racer regarding SC going to console and he was saying how SC can't go to console because of graphics. Its a stupid argument in the first place since games for decades have had these things called "settings" where you can always reduce texture quality and polygons and effects assuming the game is coded for it. That is how you get computers with worse graphics cards than their console equivalents to run these games. Its why ED can look absoloutely stunning on a high end rig but can also run just fine on a potato with reduced quality. The game is coded to allow it to happen. If SC can't run on consoles, it also can't run on lower quality PCs either (which we know it struggles badly with due to its lack of optimization... CR doesn't want to pander to poor people anyway, so out with both PC peasants and console peasants). I digress, my point was that i've got games for the PS4 which look absoloutely stunning graphics wise, and on the big screen they look fantastic and better sometimes than games on my PC's monitor with my Nvidia 960 (ok, not cutting edge, but not a bad graphics card).

There is actually a shop near me called "Microtech", from my one trip into it a few years ago it's a home and garden hardware/tool shop. Also there is : https://www.microtech-group.co.uk/

I'm amused by the implication that the corporation will apparently never expand off that one planet to any others so they just named it after themselves.

My favorite is the smug look at the end before he walks off camera - the 80s version of a mic drop. The funny thing is this: when I saw this commercial when it aired live, I was literally blown away by the graphical difference between these two systems. The Intellivision version resembled reality itself, making the Atari version look laughable in comparison. Watching this with my 2019 eyes, however, I'm not really sure I see much of a difference, especially considering today's sports games look like I'm watching ESPN live. Graphics never have, and never will, make a game. Scruffpuff fucked around with this message at 18:46 on Dec 3, 2019 |

That would be a totally non scammy way of ensuring the Calders are happy. There will be an additional subscription model like wow has to pay for the server infrastructure. Came across this on twitter. It's a podcast (released today) with Frank Savage about the development of Strike Commander -- from the time that he joined the team as a programmer, about 3 months prior to the intended release which was inevitably missed because there was no proper game to deliver. Quite a bit of interesting info and insight; Crobbear gets unavoidably name-dropped, but not so much as you'd think (or at least not as much as someone would think, if they believed Crobbler writes magic code). http://fabiensanglard.net//sc_podcast/index.html The page has a transcript of the whole interview, too.

echothreealpha posted:Just wait until next gen hits, and their realisation that games on next gen consoles have better quality graphics than Star Citizen. You’re showing your ignorance. We’re still in the early days with star citizen, and anyone who knows the first thing about game development knows you use basic no-frills assets until you’ve got the engine and gameplay working how you want them. What kind of idiot would expect final polished AAA graphics in an early access alpha? Wait till you’ve seen the finished game before you start comparing its graphics to other games.
