Corrode posted:A bargain at a mere £60. I can't ever imagine needing alternate weapon loadouts - I suppose it's a tournament/store thing? Even the biggest game I've played (4 players, each with 1 warlord, 1 reaver and 2 warhounds) none of us got any of our weapons confused. I'm sure a lot of people like making their models look cool* and accurate to what you're using but the forgeworld prices are ridiculous. *I would love for my warlord to have quad gats, but not £50 love

Alright so, my Kill Team group has grown to six now, in preparation for the campaign at the start of next year. I'm Imperial Guard, another player is also IGs, two are using space marines (one being primaris, one ultramarines), one using Dark Eldar (or maybe space marines too..), while the last will be using Eldar. So yeah, lots of blue-on-blue incidents will be occurring, looks like! Anyway, so this is what my squad is looking like, seeing as I realised that I can get way more guys than what I could get in SWA. (During my two games of that, heh) So what I'm wondering is, how does it look? I wouldn't mind having a plasma gunner for the range, but that can come later I guess - I get the feeling the damage output of a melta might come in handy a little more, against all these marines. I'm no expert though, so I'm just trying to go for a well-rounded squad - without any real knowledge as to what's hot and what's not. Leader: Tempestor - chainsword, laspistol (I think it's a heavy laspistol or something) Specialists: Special Weapons Gunner (sniper) - sniper rifle Guardsman (comms) - lasgun, voxcaster Guardsman (medic) - lasgun Regulars: Guardsman - lasgun Guardsman - lasgun Scion - hotshot lasgun Scion gunner - flamer Scion gunner - melta Ogryn Bone 'ead - ripper gun

It's poo poo that they didn't just make one of the two Ogres in the box female, so you didn't have to shell out FW rates for diversity, but whatever. The Gnoblar rules, too.

I hope that's two sculpts rather than two ogres. You want at least 4.
|
# ? Dec 1, 2019 20:27 |

It'll be two ogres since you can only take six in a side and the GW box comes with four.

# ? Dec 1, 2019 20:30 |

That's kind of what I meant. I was fearful for a moment that they were putting out an ogre team with only two ogres in the box.

This might be a little lame but in my local gaming group were starting a Blood Bowl League and i thought to drum up interest in the game id make it a little bit narrative. So after the games i think im going to do a little write up where Sportscaster and Sports Wizard, Chet Cantrip, goes over the games and what happened in them. Not exactly like a battle report but enough to show who won and fun moments. Does this sound like a good idea?

Ropes4u posted:I would read it if you posted it here Dont mind if i do quote:Hello sports fans! I'm Chet Cantrip and ill be your news caster and sports wizard for Legacy's Blood Bowl league. Tonight, two teams had a short scrim that was rudely cut short by an erupting volcano. We didnt get an interview with the teams because of all the lava and pyroclastic debris but we are told that they were a goblin team and an underworld team. Talking to some half charred fans, we discovered that the goblin team pulled out a 1-0 victory, but the goblins had two of their players killed during the game and suffered extensive damage throughout. We asked one orc fan what he thought of the game, " We dun' get a lot uv' bloodbowl round dese parts, Iz bout time we get sum real sport in Legacee. Watching dem gobbos and rats fightin wuz da bes fun i had in forevuh. Da bes part is when da troll bit that gobbo clean in haff and threw him into da stands. I gots me a piece, ya wanna see?". There you have it, Good ole fashion Blood Bowl. This has been Chet Cantrip and tune in next time for more another exciting game of Blood Bowl! So what happened is my Goblins fought my friends Underworld team. I won 1 to 0. Hes kinda newish to BB so i kinda held back. I taught him about the cage tactic and the sort of move priority of lowest risk actions to Highest risk action. 2 of my gobbos died and one of his models was injured by a rock. IT took awhile to play so we had to cut it short because the store we played at had to close. edit: and this is what i imagine Chet Cantrip to look like: Hihohe fucked around with this message at 04:27 on Dec 3, 2019 |

https://www.warhammer-community.com/2019/12/05/ogre-teams-on-the-pitchgw-homepage-post-3fw-homepage-post-2/ Ogre article. Looks like theres a new positional (one of your ogres can be a punter - it gets kick team mate rather than throw), nothing else looks... EDIT: Bah. Gnoblars don't count towards team value. So my dark uprising box only came with enforcer (and Grinder) specific tactics So I have to buy the enforcer pack to get the general cards and then...have an extra set of enforcer cards? Feels real bad

Cassa posted:They're all on yaktribe if you wanna save yourself some $$$ Caravan Heist is a great scenario. If you are the attacker, remember to account for the forward movement of the caravan when/if you get the opportunity to loot it. It moves 6" a turn, so unless you are using a big model and can get your attackers on top of it, it is hard to catch up as it runs forward. You need to have fighters still 'ahead' of its route when you are ready to go in and grab stuff.

So just had my first few games of kill team, I just had a load of mechanicus vanguard lads with one of each of the special weapons Vs so heretic space marines and cultists. I felt a bit low on numbers and squishy compared to him, should I expand by getting some of those knifey robot lads? Is the fat mechanicus box a good buy? Finally is the much change in the costs that it's worth getting the 2019 rule book?

Is anyone able to identify these old Epic 40k models for me? I'm pretty sure the first two are an IG Rough Rider and Sentinel, but I've no idea what the third guy or the biker are. I found a load of them in an old bitz box (along with a hilariously small old Warlord Titan) and was thinking of using them as base decoration on some AT stuff in the future.

Specifically a Colossus robot, which I think (as plastic) was in the Epic Stompaz boxed set where the modern 40k Contemptor dread design was first introduced.

I am still on my holidays abroad, but I've already ordered some Orlocks and the FW upgrades to start a new gang for my groups next campaign. Jesus the FW stuff is expensive, and I haven't even decided whether to grab some other resin bits from other sites yet. I also am considering how to get a Lugger together. Basically the Orlock Brute is a tracked servitor with a heavy weapon. A 40k mechanicus kataphron is the obvious base model, but they come in boxes of 3 and it's stupid money to spend for one model.
