According to the article, the man claims to have been building a 'quantum physics generator' and suffered radio frequency burns. So, he hooked some random HF electronics together and microwaved himself.

They also assist non-unionized foreign workers that are preyed upon by their employers(often housed in absolute hovels, paid almost nothing, have their passports taken away, etc. after being promised unionized rates and treatment prior to coming to Denmark) with getting unioned up and legally protected. This has brought a tear to my eye. Time to ping my lead about getting put on the negotiating committee.

That car parked next to the underground tank just loving vanishes. It lifts right up, then falls into hell. I really hope there was no one in there. I used to work at a petrol station and we got inductions on the underground tanks. There's just no way they should be able to explode like that.

Don't they normally use intrinsically safe equipment to prevent this kind of explosion? I wonder what kind of pump was in use under there and how it was wired. Edit: Apparently IS only applies to low-voltage electrical equipment, so if there was a pump in use inside the tank area they would have to have designed that knowing a spark from the pump could blow the whole place up. The first time I went into the station and admitted what happened and they had no clue what to do. The second time no one seemed to notice so i removed the hose and gtfo. Not my most shining moments.

I cashiered at a gas station/shop, and while we had drive-offs, none were with the pump attached. I was told that if that happened, it would separate, some gas would spray out, but ti wouldn't be a deluge. I was to shut the lines off and call my boss/the cops. This place was pretty OSHA especially in the mechanics bays, but no way some poor college kids are gonna rat the man paying them and letting them smoke weed in the supply room out for anything short of limb removal.

Very little gas came out, they both detached smoothly at the collar. It's a sickening feeling when you're starting to pull away and you feel a strange resistance in your car to move then a loud WHACK as the end of the hose whips the side of your car, and you're too high to even.
