Welp, I think all I accomplished is making my friend pissed at me, she's now accusing me of "trying to justify antisemitism on the left because I don't like the tories". She's definitely one of those people who would be a hard left-wing voter if not for the fact that the media has poisoned her to think Corbyn is going to persecute the Jews. She even cited that recent video the tabloids are running with where Jews weren't specifically mentioned as being protected. 's frustrating as hell but I don't think there's any progress to be made here.

Bit of an assumption to imply that this was sent by a Labour supporter - it could just as easily have been a concerned Tory worried that IDS isn't eating properly with all the time he's having to spend outside the crypt canvassing. e: Interesting but maybe not that useful vitamin D chat - I read a nice study a while back suggesting that in Arctic regions, where for much of the winter there are exactly 0 hours of sunlight a day, indigenous communities that rely on a more traditional diet full of stuff like seal, fish and reindeer meat, tend to have far lower incidence of vitamin D deficiency than people of the same ethnic groups living in cities with better access to more varied foods. Fatty fish and some polar animals have a lot of the vitamin stored up and you get much more of it from eating them. Probably totally late (thread fast) but I started taking 5-HTP and Vitamin D (bought both together off Amazon for less than £20), and the difference it has made to my life is night and day. Previously in the winter months I would have to seriously fight against the urge to end my life, for months on end, and it was really tiring. I’ve got a son this year, so couldn’t really try to squeak through another winter being like that, and against all my natural inclinations to not take that sort of thing, I took the advice of friends and started taking both at the same time, and holy gently caress, for me it’s better than any anti-depressant. I feel like I do in the summer months, which is capable and upbeat. Is it the Vit D, is it the 5-HTP? Who gives a poo poo at that price? Again, I realise this is all anecdote but Vit D is just so cheap I don’t know why anyone wouldn’t give it a shot. The 5-HTP will probably gently caress you up, maybe fatally, if you already take SSRI’s so bear that in mind.
