Beck at his height was fifty or a hundred times bigger than Alex. Infowars has been around a while, and you'll have heard about it if you've even passing familiarity with the wingnut community, but the biggest thing that ever happened to Alex was when Hilary namedropped him in that speech. Otherwise he's always been on the fringe. He's good at bringing people in but he can't hold an audience for long. People tend to either recover or look for harder stuff.
