Edit: wait, this is the Switch thread

Every thread is an appropriate space for talking about ME3's issues. I'm still kind of mad about the launch endings, frankly.

More on-topic, I took advantage of the sale to pick up Child of Light and Mark of the Ninja. Kept hearing great things about the former and the latter's original version was magnificent when I played it on PC years ago. Really stoked to get into both while I wait around to finish my Pokedex. Only 3 more Shield-exclusives to go!

For anyone who misses the Mass Effect games, especially ME3's multiplayer, I strongly recommend Warframe; it's much faster-paced, tons of parkour and stealth, but it's got that vibe of ME all throughout it.

And it's legitimately free (not even pay-to-win, more like pay-to-skip, as all weapons and gear can be bought with in-game money and resources, or immediately with premium currency). You'll need an SD card, though. Like right now, you might be able to install it to onboard if you have nothing else on there, but there's an update happening soonish that's going to push the game over the limit set by the Switch for onboard size, necessitating an SD card. It's very much worth it, though.

I tried this way back at PS4 launch and couldn't get into it, but just downloaded it on my Switch to give it another try since I've heard good things about it lately.

Yes; and, confusingly, the suggested play order is 2, then 1. Or at least, that's what I read somewhere.

I've only played 1, but it is definitely a Compile Heart dungeon crawler, with all that entails. It's nowhere near as skeevy as Moero Chronicle, though.

Definitely check it out. I've only been playing for around a month, but I can't get enough. I've looked through the history a bit, and it's been MASSIVELY updated since the PS4 launch. From what I can tell, it's practically an entirely different game.

That's YW3, out on the 3DS.

One of the first NPC you meet after your character moves to deep South tells you "Bless your heart."

Then you spend half a day looking for snack food under parked cars and in garbage all over the town, because your parents only gave you $3.

That being said if you consider "anime bullshit" a con rather than a pro you should probably give it a pass, since the compile heart budget shows through. (Pretend I linked a bunch of screenshots of the two female leads feeling each other up while talking about playing it for the plot, gameplay, puzzles, etc.)

If you like the standard dungeon crawler, then it basically executes that stuff fine. There's optimal builds to figure out and it isn't all that hard or interesting once you have.

The soundtrack is also worth noting because I think it's phenomenal. Goes in hard with the strings and stuff.

Thanks. I mean I played dungeon travelers or whatever that lovely porn anime dungeon crawler was. I just like the first person dungeon crawlers. I grew up on Wizardry so it's more like does the anime get in the way of gameplay.

I appreciate the response, and yes, I already have labarynth of refrain.

THUNDERDOME LOSER

Anyone know what the difficulty in Ring Fit Adventure actually adjusts?

I was at 75% or more health against a boss, who no-warning used a super-attack. I'm pretty sure I blocked it correctly and entirely, but my character still fell over dead.

I'm not looking forward to redoing that section 'cause my abs are obliterated. I had to hold my planks for much longer than usual 'cause our overweight cat, who clearly can't stand the sight of people exercising, kept standing beneath my belly and howling at me.

I tried to straighten out and squish him but he's too round for me to return to horizontal by the joycon's reckoning.

Difficult increases how many reps you have to do per attack and sometimes how deep you have to go or how long you have to hold them.

If a super attack killed you it means you dropped the super ab guard, I’m sorry to say.

Also, lest the whole 'online' thing turn people away, you can do everything solo. Yes, you're logging in to Digital Extreme's service, but you don't need to play alongside anyone else if you don't want to. Plus, there's a small section that's dedicated to PvP, whereas the rest of the game is basically PvE. My internet sucks, plus with kids I'm barely able to coordinate an online game, so Warframe ends up being perfect for me.

Also, join the goon Switch clan, The Solar Whales.

Edit: also, you get to customize your colour scheme with other palettes being available for purchase (no effect on gameplay).

Naturally, well... I had to...

No, for the super attack you're going into a really low squat, and the shield gets huge. The game tells you you're fine way before you take the correct position.
