The press and the right are going to lie and handwring, they don't actually care, we care and we will work to make our party a place for all, we don't need their input to do that.

I know Labour really aren't the party that supports or allows antisemitism to flourish, especially if that what that report could find. After all how many Labour members are there? a few hundred thousand? Of course they'll have awful people of all shades but, unfortunately, it's not enough to actually do something they need to be seen to do things. Too many people are far too lazy and will just accept what they see/read.

Is there anything Labour could do to actually put this issue to bed? It's not being put forward by people who are acting in good faith. The more we do to exonerate ourselves, the more they'll just twist our actions against us. "See? Labour are investigating. No smoke without fire!"

If any of these people were genuine about rooting out these issues, why are they giving Bojo a free pass on "watermelon smiles", "letter boxes", "piccaninnies" et cetera

To be honest I don't know 100% what Labour can do but there are enough smart people in Labour that they can come up with something. Do they publish reports on the complaints they've received against their current status and outcome of investigation. i thought I saw on here before that most AS complaints actually had nothing to do with Labour members so there's nothing Labour could do. They should be making that known.

But nobody's going to report on that because the people doing the reporting do not care about facts. They only care about pushing the narrative because they're all tories and that's what gets clicks with their audience.

Labour have given numbers on poo poo like that, it doesn't matter, the reason the narrative prevails is because all the people with a platform want it to, this is the nature of private and state owned information provision, the owners set the narrative.

The alternative is with people for whom this pile of lies is so out of touch with their lives that they disregard it, but that's not most people.

What a surprise the poll is just a large heap of parrots which repeat back what they've been told by the press. We tell you what to think then we ask you what to think and then we report on that to tell you what to think again. This is a productive use of everybody's time.

But if you had a link to a report then it would be simple to reply to anyone on twitter or the like with just that link. Keir Starmer could be on TV doing interviews and bring its existence out. And because it would be something that would be updated they could keep going. Then ask why the tories aren't doing similar, what have they got to hide. It could make it easier for canvassers to deal with any AS questions. Like I say I don't know if it would be a 100% fix but this AS stuff is dominating things far too much.

There are already a pile of resources for you to do that, it doesn't matter. People do not post about AS stuff because they actually care about it or because they care about facts. They post because it's an excuse. The news are never going to report on labour refuting it because that would run contrary to the narrative.

Just because someone says a thing doesn't mean they actually believe the thing or care about the thing, they say the thing because it's a thing to say which can be followed by the thing they actually care about. "Labour are antisemitic so I won't vote for jeremy corbyn". The latter is the important part, the former part is just a fact-shaped thing to say so they can say the second bit, which they believe on a far more instinctive level or for far stupider reasons they are not interested in examining or changing.

None of it matters worth a toss, there’s not even a pretence of procedural rigour and ten hours from now nobody will ever care about these numbers ever again.

I've had someone say to me "I would vote for Jeremy Corbyn but I won't vote for a party that appears to have institutional acceptance of AS" and I thought the "appears to have" was the most important bit. Rees-Mogg retweeted a speech from the leader of the loving AfD and that doesn't seem to have made a lasting ripple. It just gets on my nerves that all talk of Labour is AS, AS, As, manifesto not costed, AS, AS.

The problem is that there is nothing they can do or say that will bring a close to these attacks. When they report and the numbers are low, they are just told that they are covering things up, the numbers are too small, the problem is much bigger, yadda yadda.
And while an allegation is being investigated, it is just that, an allegation. You can't report individual cases ongoing in case they turn out to be unwarranted accusations or accusations with no evidence.

Following publication of four articles headlined “Ex-Militant Tendency activist accused of bullying Louise Ellman lied about date of birth to rejoin Labour”, published online on 25 February 2019; “Plot to oust MP Ellman spearheaded by a former member of the Trotskyist Militant Tendency”, published online on 25 February 2019; “’Bullied’ Louise Ellman nears exit”, published in print on 1 March 2019; “Labour MP Dame Louise Ellman ‘considering her future’ in party amid rumours of more resignations”, published online on 1 March 2019, Audrey White complained to the Independent Press Standards Organisation that the Jewish Chronicle breached Clause 1 (Accuracy) of the Editors’ Code of Practice. The complaint was upheld, and IPSO required the Jewish Chronicle to publish this adjudication.

etc

Also, Chakrabati did a report which gave various recommendations for 'use of language' and so forth, but essentially supported the view that Labour wasn't institutionally racist. She then accepted 'ermine' (seat in House of Lords) and many consider this a reward for a 'whitewash' report.
