Hearing rumours in my area that the Tory party association has been visiting hospices to get lists of people who recently died or who are critically ill in order to either fraudulently impersonate them at poll booths or drive them to the poll booths against their will to force them to vote Tory. Not sure how true this is, if at all, but am reporting it anyway to my 100k followers - inverse worlds Laura k, 2019 election

He also mentioned how on social media there’s so many more people attacking conservative voters for their vote with things like “if you see a homeless person and you voted Tories, it’s your fault” and that there hasn’t really been anything the other way around.

I'm not entirely sure what the point is there. People are pointing out cause and effect of Tory policy, so I guess I'll stand with Boris :smuggo: ?

Well he argued that when labour was in power it wasn’t like they abolished homeless or anything or something along those lines. I think he was talking about the vitriol in general.

Spent a cold, wet day asking Labour supporters in Cambridge to go out and vote. Tories can't win here but I really don't want it to fall back to the libs.

Voted this morning in incredibly-safe Tory Tewkesbury. Almost certainly futile but felt good nonetheless.

Just wanted to say thanks to you all for keeping politics interesting after the total absurdity of recent times pulled me in - before lurking here I'd been a perennial 'who cares they're all the same anyway'!

It's weird seeing so many mediocre young footballers who've barely played a real game voting Tory when the ex-pros with cushy media jobs are all about Labour and the Green Party.

It's definitely not weird that all my news about the election comes from my twitter feed.

I guess it depends if you want to have a row or not. It's not really up for debate that Tory/libdem austerity sent thousands of people to an early grave, and it's not really up for debate that homelessness has greatly increased under their rule. Regardless of whatever other dumbfuck policies they think they are voting for - they reason they get poo poo on online is because they vote for people who are OK with the aforementioned deaths and homelessness - and by giving them their vote, they are also OK with this. If they don't like that, they should maybe take a wee peak inside themselves to consider what actually matters to them.

I kinda doubt that's helpful for a family Christmas dinner though.

216 leaflets in just under two hours. Seems I can still move fast if I need to. Not sure how short handed they are but they were delighted when I said I didn’t mind going on my own round the village where I used to live. Saw half a dozen labour posters and no others, and spoke to one guy who said he’d already voted brexit party. We still managed to bond over a mutual hatred of the tories and I resisted pointing out he’s a thick oval office. Some observations:

1) dogs are terrifying when you’re putting something through the door
2) letterboxes were designed by the very devil himself
3) my fingers really hurt

One of the canvassers I was with had her "labour spoon" which was just a wooden spoon for pushing things through letterboxes.

We genuinely have no idea. The polls say bad, but they said bad last time, and there's reason to believe there have been big last minute swings to labour, and we don't know how high youth turnout is.

Conventional wisdom says bad, but observation suggests conventional wisdom is wrong, but we don't know how much by, if so.
