Brexit has realigned electoral politics away from class lines. Meanwhile the working class is at a historically weak point in terms of organisation in work places. We need to rebuild from the ground up. The BBC are comparing this to results in the 30s but the situation for our movement is more like the 1880s- prior to new unionism. Corbynism never attempted to address the basic weakness of the working class. Socialists who have backed brexit for the last 59 years should be held to account. The reality of it has destroyed our class's political coherence.

Johnson gets his mandate justifies him remaking the Tory party in his own image. All of Cameron's efforts to bring it to the centre right are gone, there's no moderates to keep Johnson in check, and all Corbyn can do is bask in his cult of personality. He's failed as a leader.

Nothing personal about it, just looking at him fumbling around in any professional role; mayor, politician, foreign sec, prime minister. Absolute clown shoes. Drone_Fragger posted:exit polls tend to be pretty accurate to be fair There's a broad belief amongst the terminally online socialists that polls are meaningless and should always be ignored. This is why they're so shocked, despite polls trending towards this result for literally months. I'd expect the US Democratic Primary / Bernie thread to be in a similar state when Biden wins the primary, despite countless goons breathlessly planning for President Sanders to break out the guillotines.

His total inability to grapple with Brexit in an authentic way spelled doom for his personal brand, and thoroughly split the Labour vote. This much has been fairly clear for years now. Frankly he'd probably have been much better off ceding power during the interim and coming back in after the issue had been resolved, since he just couldn't deal with it.
