I plan to spend the next six month ensuring that essential supplies reach labour seats over tory ones. A single benefit to a tory is a failure.

Anecdotally, as a remain voter, I still would've voted for labour even if they would have manifestoed full leave with no option to remain.

The forces of reaction are obviously very strong, and its looking like we can’t beat them in a straight fight. It has to come as a surprise at the last minute like in 2017, or we need to outflank them by looking less radical so we don’t trigger a full response like we had this time.

thats a good point, there isnt a big issue like brexit that trump can use to blackmail people into voting for him but he’s still got plenty of time to fabricate one

Honestly what happened today is our 2016 election. The Brexit vote was terribly close and weird. So in a way your next election will likely be our subsequent elections where we kicked the bums out.

Overall this is a continuation of the poo poo status quo. I feel a bit guilty that I'll probably be fine. Overall I don't really feel much.

Same tbh I'm middle class enough and white so I'll probably be fine and other than being kind of mad at how bad the electorate is I'm generally ok

This is as a close simil as possible.Including the historic unpopularity of Jeremy Corbyn. I had that terrible feeling with all the polling previously but I guess I managed to convince myself that it would not happen.

If today should teach you anything do not under estimate the affect of blatant lies and its effect on the electorate.

Warn everyone you can, seriously. I have no doubt they will have something planned to get power.

Today showed they are not beyond blatant cheating, because if they use it and win, there are no consequences to cheating.

It's really hard to read anything out of this election because so much of it was just Brexit apparently.

I'm actually really interested where the LDs are going to go from here, are LD supporters going to regret not voting Labour instead? What if the new Labour leader is more "LD friendly" (i.e. younger and less of an obviously crusty old socialist without actually being wildly different on policy)

I mean we all knew that Corbyn's personal popularity ratings were poo poo and I think in an alternate reality where the right part of the PLP didn't constantly throw their poo poo everywhere for years he might have stood down in 2017

The constant error of 'the left' is we go on the defensive. The right just spout bollox and we then go on the back foot defensive position arguing that point, digging out graphs, charts and data, when the right DON'T CARE. We waste time on something meaningless.
Everyone votes with their emotions, but the right rely on pure gut, politics of envy (someone might get some free stuff), they pick phrases such as HARD WORKING that appeal to people who think they are the only ones who think they are 'hard working' and everyone who isn't them isn't.
