Great episode. Everything on snake planet was gold, and I don't know why. I wonder if there was a Snake Plissken somewhere in there.

That was one of their all-time best episodes imo. The loving mutant Jerry head to talk to Beth on the phone that gets dissolved in acid as soon as the call is done.

Really loved the time travel loop they have with the future Rick and Morty being assholes to their past selves, causing their own past selves to be assholes when they get to that point in the time line. Just the utter pointless pettiness of it all was great.

Yeah loved that, also loved that it had a couple other nozzles ready to go, I believe one was "Pizza Guy" And Rick was able to plug into his brain and remote-control what the head should say But the head managed to force out an "I will eat your world!" which Beth interpreted in entirely the best way possible lmaooo

This show killed off every single character and then rebooted itself into an identical replacement universe, where they buried their own clones, and Morty reflected on that and said “Nobody exists on purpose. Nobody belongs anywhere. Everybody’s gonna die. Come watch TV?” Why should you care??

Everything in the Snake language just being spelled "SSSSS" was great, and Snake Hitler's balcony overflowing with corpses was a perfect sight gag - because of COURSE everyone travels back in time to kill Hitler, so a ton of them would arrive at the same time.

Hey, some of those time travelers could be from timelines where killing Snitler resulted in a worse future than letting him run his course. Also, less important, this was a top shelf episode.

So Summer hangs out with the girl with the "stripper titties" who Brad(?) left her for? Maybe they just grabbed a couple of character sheets and didn't think about it.

That was a weird left turn in the middle of the episode. The second half about timetraveling terminator snakes wasn't bad, but I would have liked to see the outcome of Morty introducing an earth snake to the intelligent snake people.

Brad was Jessica's ex-boyfriend from the football team. Ethan left Summer for Tricia but I'm pretty sure after Morty hosed him up Ethan isn't dating either of them anymore. I could see the girls commiserating over a shared ex.

My one quibble was Jerry really shouldn't have survived that. Neither grabbing the plane with his fingernails nor landing on a tree was remotely realistic. This show plays fast and loose with physics but there's usually some Rick science-magic to hand waive suspension of disbelief. They even intentionally lampshade it by having the snake guy show up to rescue Jerry but he's like "gently caress off Rick I don't need your help". Thing is... if Jerry really was THAT hosed and STILL refused Rick's help, he should probably be dead? That was pretty suicidally stupid. Even for Jerry, he may have pride but he usually caves in the face of certain death? Also the snake immediately being like "What? Who is Rick? No I am here on my own to help you" felt a bit forced to try to make the joke work. Doesn't really ruin the episode or anything.

# ? Dec 16, 2019 17:54 |
I mean, Jerry finally growing a nanometer of a spine at the worst time wouldn’t be all that surprising for him. Kinda surprised that the stinger didn’t feature a quick few seconds of the family watching a news report about his antics killing everyone on board and quite a few people on the ground, and everyone else (including Rick) has no idea why he’s taking it so hard.

Summer and her friend dancing to snake jazz and then verbally destroying the nerdy friend had me dying. "Gee I dunno Nancy, can you alter the course of being a giant loving nerd?" "Sorry." "Also later, we need to discuss your clothing. And your weight" "That's fair." Snake Jazz is destroying teenagers.

Lupus Rufus posted:and in the hands of shitheads, a lot of people would also time travel back to stop the time travelers from killing snake hitler, because of course they would. Yup, and no one actually manages to kill snake Hitler. He's just left standing there naked and confused. Rick was right, those whacky snakes were pretty stupid at using time travel. I liked this one, just a bunch of people (and snakes) being jerks and funny jokes but sometimes that's all you need.

Yes. also these episode are far more dense. At first I thought it was just my imagination, but our producer told us some numbers. In season 1 and 2, we were looking at mabyeeee 70-100 props per episode. now its closer to 250. Every department has had to scale up. The number of art assets required to make a single episode have tripped, and the crew has gotten much bigger as well. I used to be the only prop guy. Now I have two people underneath me. And we have Mutata on 3d Freelance.
