MOTYC: David Starr vs. WALTER, OTT WrestleRama 3 (6/23)

Masterful storytelling that continues down the road, I believe - I haven't watched them yet, of course. What should be weird dynamics - the two top heels in the promotion facing off - works really well with all of the background setting up this match. WALTER & Starr do great work, as well.

HM: Calum Black vs. Jordan Devlin, OTT Contenders 15: Guaranteed Irish (7/20)

I wasn't sure if I was going to nominate this after what seemed like a disappointing show (I wasn't too impressed by the two preceding matches on this card), but the last five minutes helped this squeak in. These two should have had a better match than something around ***1/2, but it's still that and that's still good enough to make it here for me.

So it was like 5am when I watched this but I think this match might have been perfect? Just the right amount of heel bullshit that lead to a pretty flawless ref bump spot that then played into some pretty perfect babyfacing from YAMATO. When he hit the Fankensteiner of the Almighty, I literally threw my arms into the air in joy.

MOTYC: Open the Dream Gate Championship - Ben-K vs. Naruki Doi

This was pretty amazing, and probably Ben-K's best Dream Gate match of this run. The last five minutes or so in particular were fire with one of the best criss-cross spots I've seen in a long time. Absolute high drama at its best.

Finished the show, I'll only go an HM for the Twin Gate, although I can agree that Yamato's babyface performance was pure fire. I also threw up my hands in the air after the three count

I'll nth the Dream Gate, just loved it.

Eita, Kota Minoura, Kzy vs. YAMATO, Gamma, Genki Horiguchi vs. Kagetora, HYO, Ben-K vs. �Hollywood� Stalker Ichikawa, Don Fujii, Yosuke♡Santa Maria

A really fun edition of Doi Darts to top off the final Korakuen of the year. Ending in isolation isn't great but it leads to the big reveal of the Red Demon so hey, I liked it.

PS Yamato's dropkick is every bit as good as Okada's.

Nothing was truly amazing, but these were all really enjoyable matches. Five HMs for an Irish indy's show is pretty awesome. Wrestling is so good in 2019.
