The president at least gave it a OK.

It's amazing how Marin read the government's decision live in front of cameras, word to word, and somehow this thread manages to misread every part of it. Basically, the government promises to bring children home, but shuns from making a decision on adults to not upset delicate Kepu opinions. Instead the decision on them is delegated to nameless, unelected bureaucrats who make the decisions on a one-by-one basis. So depending on who the officials are and what experts they trust, they could focus on the interest of the children and bring all mothers home too, as the Finnish Psychologist's Union has recommended. Or they could focus on security interests and only bring home those mothers approved by the board. The Kurdish authority bit is not as straightforward either, they want to get rid of every foreigner in the camp but in the end it's a matter of negotiating. So the exact execution is left open, but at least now Kulmuni can wash her hands and Haavisto can focus on purging all the rats in Formin.

En mä tiedä onko tuossa al-Hol mölinässä kovin suuret asiat kyseessä, paitsi tapaus kusetuksesta ja kenties se, että on tehty erilaista suunnitelmaa kohtalaisen isolla jengillä ja melko pitkään, mutta kiellettiin, että ei, ei ole mitään suunnitelmaa eikä polisiimestari tiennyt allekirjoittaneensa mitään papereita ja Haavisto nyt mitään ja noinpoispäin. Varmaan hallituksella ja viranomaisella on suunnitelmia myös sen varalle, että sukupuuttoon kuoleva sienilaji pelastetaan eikä asiasta hirveästi toitoteta kun ei ketään kiinnosta mutta tuskin myöskään väitettäisiin ettei mitään tämmöistä ole olemassakaan tai jätettäisiin vastaamatta mitään asiaan liittyvää jos joku sienihattu alkaisi asiasta tivaamaan. Sit on kans jengiä jotka oikeasti pitää oikeistä sienistä tehtyjä hattuja.

I'm in a 3 person project and the basic costs for running this poo poo for few years takes about 300 000 - 400 000 euros. Problem here is that the budget was very poorly planned out and someone really should have noticed this. Running out of money is bad, but not getting much done after a year doesn't seem that strange. If you start from zero and have zero support from organisation, it takes a long while to get going. Now, add to this the international cooperation and the mess is ready. Still, lot of the projects are primarily expensive employment programs for the sosionomis and YTMs. Projects need a coordinated organisation for applying grants and starting the work. Vantaa does not have this support, nor do many other municipalities. Now if someone asks, I definitely work in Toijala, not even near pääkaupunkiseutu, not at all. Being a goon, I think it is obvious that I have nothing to do with sports though

I'm sure the project personnel did a lot of networking and filed many valuable documents, so money well spent in that sense. Just wish they had done it regarding something like raideliikenne or tukieläintoiminta, as this choice of topic is somewhat controversial these days.

In case it was unclear: I don't think it's wise to spend this kind of tax payer money for projects and conferences; what is essentially suojatyöpaikkas for the well connected with rich parents. But that is just common grift, the real tragedy is when it is used as proof that maahanmuutto is taking our money just look at this example. Because it's harder to call that bullshit when you agree the project was questionable to say the least.

I know you know this, and I know you know I don't agree with your view on this, but I think it's crazy to dump billions to help 100 people instead of 100 000 by moving them here instead of helping them there. (Hyperbole of course.) I also know you don't agree or will not believe this, but at least Helsinki area Persut don't give a drat about racial stuff. They just don't think you can solve a problem over there by moving people over here. Sweden is a nice example of how that works when you take in too many people to integrate too quickly. And I also know you think this is sort of BS, because Sweden is economically prosperous, and I on the otherhand think it's BS, because they are using insane amounts of money on a large population of people who don't have much chance to (legally) make it in Sweden, and then we have weekly if not daily AK47 shootings, grenade attacks, and I don't want to post about sexual assault, and their police force is utterly overwhelmed.
