I'm going to give Trent the benefit of the doubt because I agree it would be weird (and also probably grounds for a lawsuit from the estate) to include him a collaborator if he literally had nothing to do with the creation of the album. My guess is maybe he was a big Watchmen fan or he did contribute in some way to some or all of the songs. 'just do it' is the name of a TDS unreleased song.

I haven't listened to any yet. I'm hoping he either puts these out in a digital way that isn't mp3s from Amazon, or that I get the set for Christmas.

The first two are also on Apple’s services though that may not work any better for you.

Yeah Trent has spoiled me by having previous albums come out in FLAC. I still just listen to mp3s for right now, but it's nice to have the CD or greater files as a source, and to be able to go down from there.

I wonder if there was some thing with the distributor out rights for these where he had to advertise them as bonus tracks and this "don't post porn here" text is the minimum he legally has to do to give them away free.

We're all going to experience changes in our life but only the best of us will qualify for front row seats.

It’s the freakiest score

(I’ve only listened to the Life On Mars? cover thus far and it’s already enough to justify the album’s existence. I love a piece of instrumental dread like that.)

Volume 3 is the best of the two, it felt more fleshed out with some longer tracks. It definitely gives off the most NIN vibes too

edit: The Waiting Sky is a beautiful track

All of the track titles listed on the vinyl releases are fake.

Any chance they will repress any of these or are they doomed to be $150 discogs fodder forever?

edit: I wonder if it was Lisa Fischer and/or Sharlotte Gibson who did any of the female vocals on this album (in particular Lincoln Tunnel) they were fantastic on the Tension tour

I prefer that we don't have to endure months of discussion about whether such and such is really a lost NIN track and so forth. It was a good gag, let's keep it that way.

I feel really strongly that we might get year zero 2. Trent Reznor seems like he's in concept album/arg mode and with the state of Western Democracy this feels like prime time for the return. He hasn't toured in a while and I don't think he would unless he had something really cool to show come on t dawg

That's fine, it's just the way you were talking I assumed you have been keeping up with the current stuff. You really should listen to the last 3 NIN records, they're not very long but it's a lot of good stuff. (I can't remember where we landed on calling them EPs, but... they're EPs)

This is late but I did discover some tracks I like so thanks. God Break Down the Door sounds like it could have been on the right Fragile disc and it's fun hearing Trent do a Bowie tribute.
