The funniest thing is the poo poo was probably cleaner than the river. I remember back in the 2000's when the Chicago River was upgraded from toxic to merely polluted and our local bar had a Just Polluted party to celebrate. I think we're almost to the point where you can fall into the river and not immediately get pink eye. We're doing it!
