Hmm...the new B-Wing from TRoS seems to be made for a Lego-adaption, with all the round parts replaced with flat ones.

Sadly, it no longer looks as cool as the original B-Wing, imo

Hey guys, missed the last 1,500 posts. Anything good in there?

What's the verdict on the new modular book shop? 'Cause I'm super into it and already thinking about how I can clear some space for that bad boy on my very limited display shelf.

I am also super excited and am in the same position shelf wise. I am reconfiguring my existing modulars to more densely arrange them in preparation for release. This has involved removing them from their baseplates, and breaks them apart into smaller segments. Do the Detectives Office and Pool Hall are freestanding from the Barber Shop, the Brick Bank is separate from the laundromat, Assembly Square is three freestanding buildings, and my own MOC modular has been broken into two. The Diner is intact, but off the baseplate and four studs narrower, such that the awning hugs the building and the staircase on the side is gone. All the sidewalks are free floating on their own plates. I have modularized the my modulars. It’s been a lot of fun just making new arrangements of the buildings, and in many cases quite challenging to separate and remake them. Some play features were lost, like the money laundering and rum running, but it’s worth it. I will take some pictures to share with the thread later.

Still waiting on a BL order but for the most part I'm pretty happy with my take on the Tumbler. Need to add a few details still and revise a few things but I think the overall concept is done. What do you guys think?

It even fits batman with his drat cowl on which was a pain in the butt to pull off with a cluttered 4.5 inch lego car, but I figured it was a must. Sucks cause I intended it to be a two seater, which it actually had room for but I couldn't have built any sort of interior, even with just batman it's less than I'd like but I'm gonna work on it. Looked at a bunch of reference photos and it's pretty much perfectly minifigure scale though.

I'll post some nicer pics when it's actually done done.

It finally occurred to me to check if there's a LEGO thread! I'm glad there is!

I've been getting back into LEGO because I have a nearly-three year old and she likes them a lot. Mostly she likes when I build things that have lots of stuff to open, close, pivot, claw arms for grabbing, stuff like that.

I just finished up this guy: (well we all know these things are never really finished)

I also have a few pictures of other things I've done recently I can summon up if anyone is interested. I'll be digging into the thread to see peoples' creations, I hope you guys do lots of spaceships.

Thanks! Very stable. I actually dropped it about 4 feet onto a hardwood floor and it didn't even lose a piece. Some of the greebles wouldn't be to lego standards most likely but it's solid.

That's a lot of work, but I respect your commitment. My shelf is extremely small and another modular is completely out of the question without removing/selling something else, of which the candidates would be Assembly Square, Parisian Restaurant, Haunted House, and Fishing Store, none of which I'd want to get rid of. I'm also working on a huge project right now that I absolutely will not have space for, but... I'll cross that bridge, I guess.

Old Space stuff is a passion of mine and I've shared a few of my creations, look at my post history to see. To be honest, I'm a bit more interested in ground vehicles than spaceships but they're still firmly sci-fi rather than anything remotely realistic.

Yesss, love classic space stuff. Blacktron and Space Police were great. I had the big Explorien spaceship.

I was also amused to see one of the first creations you posted being made from UFO parts. I got the second-largest UFO ship and had no idea what the gently caress to do with the big saucer pieces after I disassembled it. I use them for a spaceship every now and then, and once for a steampunk ironclad, but they're mostly big pieces that hang around in my LEGO bin. So, good work! I like your mechas a lot, too.

Here's a piece I made last week that I really like, called The Interruption Unit.

UFO was an odd beast. I thought the concept was cool and the figs were great, but it really suffered from the late 90's problem of big specialised parts. To be fair, it would have been quite difficult to do the saucer shapes with what else was available back then. To be honest, the MOCs I've shown in this thread are the only times I've actually used those parts! I've seen a few Blacktron and M-Tron MOCs using the trans neon green dishes though.

Your vehicle reminds me a little of a Dalek.

Ice Planet is the only space theme I have every set of. It really is the best. I saw someone built other space sets (M-Tron, Spyrius, Space Police) with Ice Planet blue white black and trans orange pieces to create an extended line for the theme. They all looked great and it was really well done and probably cost a mint

Welp, just found out that a relative got my kids the LEGO Disney Train as a present.

I thought I was Mr Cool Dad for the Dino museum bones kit from LEGO ideas but hot drat that train looks fantastic.

Said relative may have also forgotten the pile of other legos they sent over the summer which is under my bed also waiting to come out this week.

Glad the kids have time off school, will be a lot of building in our future.

The Australian version of this was really fun.

That one was adversarial only in the sense that someone gets eliminated each week; the show didn't have any mechanism by which a team could disadvantage another team. (Except that you could get your own team immunity or whatever.)

How did they form these teams? Some of them clearly have experience with Lego, but some of them seem like they showed up to a casting call. Every team has strengths somewhat related to Lego, except for Jessie and Kara who are just "team communication/focus".
