They also had Necoho and Zuvassien, as well as the Chaos Dwarfs worshiping Hashut.

I just finished Of Honor and Iron. Pretty meh overall. One hilarious part in it was a bunch of space marines are defending a planet from the Iron Warriors and they've accepted that they're all going to die. One of them says "At least we'll be killed by the Archenemy. Could you imagine being killed by the Tau?"

I came across some Molech fluff and what the Emperor did there - what book is this from? I had thought all that was implied / inferred background, but it looks like now it's been spelled out and explicitly pinned to a location.

Ego-bot posted:What 40k novels take place during or after Cadia gets destroyed? The Space Marine Conquest novels apparently all do from what I found on Reddit. https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Space_Marine_Conquests_(Novel_Series) I've been a 40K fan off and on for years, mainly reading sourcebooks and chatting on forums. Just started looking into novels. Helps there are so many audiobooks given I have awful vision. Also found this helpful list https://www.reddit.com/r/40kLore/comments/7ycq2x/my_attempt_to_create_a_comprehensive/?st=jkt0665y&sh=84d1235f And this guy on YT made an audiobook of Pawns of Chaos. As a Chaos fan I was intrigued to find a whole novel dedicated just to Chaos cultists and telling things from their perspective and was sad it wasn't in audiobook form. But hey, unofficial or not, this guy did it and I am grateful. https://youtu.be/A6bEOsNkgas?list=PLI0EbGboV0eMrvcZvUm1HeMF1BYKoTWg1 Merry Christmas an I'm off to spend years and hundreds of dollars on all this.

What’s the difference between a regular 40k book and it’s YA counterpart? Less graphic bolter porn and chaos shinanagins?

They made YA novels including an Age of Sigmar one where there is a comparatively "good" Skaven as a recurring character. If it wasn't so hilarious an image I still wouldn't be mad. Laughing at people taking Warhammer too seriously is a full-time job.

Been reading my copy of the new edition of The Sabbat Worlds crusade and it's so good. The preface directly references its predecessor and lifts a lot of the early stuff from it with some new stuff in between. It even opens with a four page spread map that is insane. There is also bunch Imperial Armor quality level shots here and there. It also includes the Sabbat crusade section from the Tactica Imperialis book as well which was a neat touch since that book has been out of print for a very long time now. The weakest points I've noticed is that it's not as art/picture heavy as the old one and they forgot a couple of footnotes from it as well. Even if the art that is in there is splendid. If you loved the first version of this book this is a recommended purchase.

Mine is getting delivered today and I splurged and got a Abnett signed copy from the weekender off ebay. Now I just need something signed by ADB and I will have something from all my favorite BL authors. Goddamnit getting into 40k was a bad idea when I already had a book collection fetish going on.

It helps to have read both Dark Imperium books, but it isn't absolutely necessary. A good understanding of what has happened since rowboat girlyman came back and a synopsis of those books would be enough.

So long as you know the basic gist of what the Primaris are and that Girlyman has returned. Try not to be put off by how absolutely cretinously incompetent the first few pages are. Once Cawl appears the writing picks up a lot.

I am a little way into Honorbound and so far so good. I like Rachel Harrison's writing style. I recently read Mark of Faith and absolutely loved it and it's really nice to have a competent woman writing for BL to give us good POVs of women characters. The inquisitor in MoF in particular was a very well written walking tragedy. It's the only sister of battle novel I have really enjoyed besides Requiem Infernal.

I don't see it get mentioned much here, but if he can stick the landing on the rest of the series I would put it at just a smidge below Eisenhorn/Ravenor in quality inquisitor stories.

My biggest weakness with it is probably it misses the really flavourful chapter pages the previous one had with the messages and so on. The book can almost be a bit too clinical at times. Started reading Hamilcar: Champion of the Gods now and loving it. It's like the Mortal Realms got their own Ciaphas Cain in a way.
