Wait has there been another new announcement? The last I saw was basically "FYAD is dead because it's bigoted trash, I was an idiot for giving so many chances, if you're mad you can't post slurs gently caress off" which, I mean yeah it's late but I wouldn't call it toothless.

My post preceeded that one and was referring to Cyranno's announcement. Now that FYAD is dead, which I would have preferred not to have happened and instead actual consistent and good probations/bans on lovely behavior, things can at least progress towards "not being terrible." Edit - By my saying "i didn't want FYAD closed" i meant it as, if it was good and funny without being bigoted/harassing it should have stayed open but apparently it's members couldn't meet that high requirement.

The homegrown stuff had a sort of global party scene I really enjoyed in college. Like if you were in other places, the more frisky goons were likely the ones to offer you a party or whatever. Barely any of that crowd posts anymore. Honestly SA does need a sea level change because we all deserve to post lovely wrestling takes in peace from all the other bullshit we’re getting smashed down by. Hell I got some Yikes on my account because I didn’t check myself and the mods had to come correct me. A forum is allowed to learn from its mistakes.

FYAD was fun eons ago cuz you could poo poo talk mods and admins, and they just sort of said "whatever it's FYAD". Also, a lot of goatse. A tremendous amount of goatse. It was also very much about how bad the character design of Final Fantasy X was and topics of that level of irreverence. Then it shifted from irreverence to irony around the time idiot kings became a thing and I just lost the plot. I was always kinda surprised Lowtax put up with it so long. But I've been around for multiple paradigm shifts of like, GBS being a free for all, to GBS being very restrictive, then back again and now we're kinda going back to him coming down on the bullshit. coconono posted:I refuse to post in the comics forum, I'm convinced they don't like comics. I post on the comics forum all the time, but only in the Transformers thread, where I almost exclusively post about toys (because I have a horrible plastic crack addiction) even though I really like most of the transformers comics I’ve read and could chat about them extensively. Transformers MTMTE is legit one of my favorite comics ever. It’s got a bit of a slump in the middle of its run where it turns into “jabber mouths trapped in a space closet” but the beginning and end are aces and even that middle bit is still really solid overall. I also didn’t like John Barber very much after a certain point—I think when RID ended—and the last Unicron thing kind of sucked. Every comic book “CRISIS AND EVERYONE IS INVOLVED” usually kind of sucks; they seem like excuses to make artists cranky by having them draw as much as possible on one page.
