What they should really do is make a stadium that is also a functional foosball table, or tabletop soccer/hockey game.

It's a MoC, and I can totally understand why Lego would never sell it. But why not make a sports series? Smaller sets for couple of bucks children can actually play with. Now make them fit into some larger sets...I don't know what "Fankurve" is in english...the part behind the goals with the fans....fans corner??? Make a small set out of it, which connects to the other sets, which has some fans, someone who sells hotdogs or bratwurst. Make another set that has the media and VIP people, with the coach and team bench on it...give it some Guardiola or whatever minifig. And it all snaps together to FC Barcelona vs. Real Madrid, or Dortmund vs. Schalke etc. pp. The cost of the licenses would be pretty high, but I assume it could scratch the same itch as the Lego sets. Playsets for the younger ones, with pretty expensive "UCS" stadium sets for the adult fans. I know it'll never happen, but my simple mind refuses to believe that it wouldn't work

Already answered, but Tuo, your posts were kind of hilarious considering that exact thing has been done (minus the big stadium). I don't believe they ever did professional teams (at least in soccer, they did for their NHL/NBA stuff) but there were definitely international teams. While the line as a whole is mostly forgotten these days, some of the earlier promo stuff for the 1998 FIFA World Cup is quite expensive, and I believe there was a line of polybags exclusive to Japan for the 2002 World Cup that are kind of sought after as well.

I have a full LEGO football (yes thats how it's called  ) stadium in storage bins somewhere, the line was from 1998 when looking it up. It was some of SHELL gas station savings thing iirc (guess being a sick kid meant at least we got plenty gas station coupons  ).IIRC I am missing a second set of the non-luxury stands, I had 6 stands total and the rest of it all. Biggest picture I could find of the completed set:  I do like how it's also LEGO canon you need riot cops at footy matches.

Part of it I’m sure is catering to non Afols who are more interested in the ip and think of lego itself as more of a novelty or children’s toy I get that it’s easy money but it certainly is not ideal to use up spaces for Ideas sets with 3 camera tv serials

Yay another incoming stupid Ideas sitcom diorama. The only other ones I could see getting made are the Planet Express or the Aquarium, since the Futurama license would probably be easy for them to get from Fox, and the aquarium is the type of thing they like to do with ideas. The typewriter doesn't seem impossible either but very unlikely. Everything else seems like not a chance. The BOTW stables are neat. I hope Lego manages to end up with the Nintendo license some day.
