The thought that Pompeo pushed him into this, and now its technically going to be harder to start a war with Iran because of it makes me smile.

Republicans Scared Bolton Will Testify About Trump’s Ukraine Crimes nymag.com/Jan. 7, 2020 'When a parade of witnesses defied the White House to testify about the administration’s plot to turn Ukraine policy into a lever to dirty up President Trump’s domestic enemies, Republicans dismissed it all as secondhand information. None of them had spoken directly to Trump, except Gordon Sondland, whose memory of such discussions proved fuzzy. “Their understanding, which is the foundation of the case for the Democrats, was based on secondhand information,” said Representative Kevin McCarthy, mouthing the party’s favorite talking point. Yesterday, former national security adviser John Bolton put himself forward as a willing witness for the Senate impeachment trial. Bolton’s testimony is very much of the firsthand variety. On at least one occasion, he met with Trump and pleaded with him to release military aid to Ukraine. Otteration posted:I'll make fun of the orange fecal smear's sniffing and slurping all day long given obvious data (and because such speculation does not matter at all), but it's way to early to speculate on the cause of any air crash absent actual data. We have actual data, it's a plane taking off and transmitting data normally, then suddenly stopping the transmission of data and then crashing. Something catastrophic happened to that plane to take it from normal to "completely hosed" (a technical term) within seconds -- not long enough for a distress call or a transmission of any kind of abnormal flight path. While I think it's too early to say a missile took it down definitively, it is absolutely reasonable to speculate that this plane crash is directly related to the US/Iran conflict that was happening at the same time. Whether it was a missile, a bomb, or a hurried maintenance job that got hosed up to get a plane out of a near-warzone ASAP, I simply do not believe these two situations are unrelated. The chances are so phenomenally slim it would be like being struck by lightning after walking out of a store where you've just purchased a jackpot-winning lottery ticket. This was a relatively new plane of a proven type, operated by an airline with a great safety record and flown by an experienced crew, it didn't "just crash."
