Crossposting from the January thread because man if you're into vehicle creation games I have to sing the praises of Trailmakers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2rMUeQxKME A lot of games of this type can get really bogged down in the nitty gritty and while that allows people to make some crazy elaborate vehicles, there's a lot to be said for simplicity and ease of use when it comes to a creation set. Trailmakers has it in spades. Everything snaps together like Legos, you can pull them apart and reattach peices, all the mechanical parts are easy to understand even when you're altering their variables and repairing your car is as simple as pressing R. You can even set up to 4 of your vehicle types to an R+1 - 4 shortcut and it'll instantly transform into them, so you can drive into the water and shift into a boat you made. I usually wind up putting a bunch of time into one creative game every year and making cars that childhood me thought about this easily is real rewarding. There's an actual game in there too with racing and an exploration campaign. Don't sleep on this if you're a tinkerer.

Honestly, I can see why publishers sell OSTs separately. The average video game OST is completely forgettable even when it's good, because establishing the game's atmosphere and then fading into the background is what they're for, on the most basic level. If they offered them as free downloads, the vast majority of people interested in the game probably still wouldn't ever bother with it. They're not really something you just listen to as music for most people, so they might as well squeeze a few extra dollars out of the few people who care. There's really only a bare handful of games that I think have original soundtracks that are really good and interesting enough that they'd be worth listening to just by themselves and I was pretty alright with paying for those, because something like the Revengeance OST is basically a legitimate album in its own right.

It's funny that this is the example you went with, because Revengeance is one of the peak soundtracks that's really not that great if you separate it from the game. It's almost a counter-example. Reinforced by the fact that you don't really hear the OST versions in the game (save for some exceptions), because the game dynamically mixes several looping chunks together depending on what's happening right then. The only reason the OST IS so good is because it's tailored to the game situations. Put it on a CD and, eh... it's almost entirely carried by the meme potential of Rules Of Nature.

So there is no way to skip this stupid "allocating disk space" part is there? I mentioned earlier I got a USB drive to install FFXV Windows Edition to. The thing said 128GB but apparently that's actually only 117 GB. And even though it says you only need 100GB of storage on the FFXV page, I ran out of allocated disk space at the last second of the download. I needed something like a pitiful 80 MB more. But this is a fresh flash drive and nothing at all to delete to free up any space. That was very frustrating as I have apparently wasted money and time.

FFXV PC is one of the most unstable piles of junk i've played. i got it working eventually, after recalibrating my video settings, loving with my pagefile sizes, periodically checking for memory leaks, and sacrificing a goat every time i went into a dungeon crawl that would last more than an hour or so. running games off flash drives make them even less stable, so while you may theoretically be able to play it in the sense that it will occasionally display a game image on your monitor, it will be a miserable experience every step of the way
