Looking professional when committing genocide is essential. This is mostly achieved by using a beret.

Olive drab colour ensures the genocider will remain hidden from his prey until it's too late for them to do anything.

-2 Authority Swallow your (nationalist) pride.
+1 Drama "I'm not a racist, but..."

You want to say something, but you can't. The words are in the back of
your throat, but the landscape you see before you keeps those words
stuck and unspoken. Not only is this bad for your blood pressure, it's
bad for your sense of identity; in this case, a racist. The world
around you polices your thoughts and words to the point you can't be
who you think you should be. There's gotta be a way to vent these
thoughts of yours in spaces you feel you should be able to. I mean,
who doesn't deserve a safe space of their own (maybe racists)?

Amazing. He tried that in a thread for a game favored by leftists, notable for their hatred of Nazis, on a dead webforum run by a person who practically just called for a grand purge of Nazis from the site.

Is there a way to progress time at night after the stores have closed and the streets are clear, but before Kim has gone to sleep? Like around midnight?

You can read books, and sit on benches until 2am. After than point it's have a bed or softlock.

EDIT : If you want Kim to go to bed, go to the place you will sleep, and he will go to bed, freeing you from his judging gaze. He'll do this from about 10pm onwards IIRC?

And of course, anything that uses dialog trees can still pass time.

Beware, his gaze exceeds his physical form. I tried to hide the fact that I lost my gun from Kim or that Mr. Evrat was helping me find my gun by always seeing him alone, but somehow Kim caught on by the end of the game. Maybe because I told as many people as I could that Mr. Evrat was helping me find my gun.

It's not authority, it's his Esprit De Corps. The same way you know what's happening back at the station that you don't even remember. It's the cop hive-mind.

They're both Empathy, so presumably with high authority comes high esprit de corps.

I think Disco Elysium paints a very sympathetic portrait of Communism, but it takes its time to dwell on the cracks in the paint.

Frankly it helps a lot that the creators are from Eastern Europe and have a better sense of communism, its success and failures, than anyone huffing the fumes of American Cold War propaganda would. That's what really makes me appreciate the depiction of every ideology the game decides to tackle.

People who don't like Measurehead are kinda missing the point of the character imo. He's supposed to be tragic (although there's some riffs off of early 2010s 4chan race realism comics that had me laughing).

While I don't know the developers personally, it's worth noting that Estonia as a country does not have a particularly positive view of the Soviets, combined with a deep sense of new found independence having been a subjugated people for most of their existence (both pre and post actual existence as a nation.
