Today, Saturday @ 4pm(ish) eastern, The Next To Last stream in the Year of Macross saga. Last we saw Fire Bomber, Basara finally got everyone to listen to his song and literally every character in Macross 7 sang along even the ones that hated music. I'm gonna announce my intentions early this week just to get this out of the way. This Saturday, beginning at 4PM eastern and going probably way later into the night, is the Year of Macross x Christmas Double Holiday Special Super Stream (and also my last stream of the year)!! We'll be celebrating the finale of the Year of Macross with the extremely long Blu-Ray commercial that is Macross FB7: Galaxy Flow Soul: Listen to my Song!, probably watch an episode or two of Yawara! A Fashionable Judo Girl! to tide us over until 2020, I'll navigate us through what I'm tentatively calling The Christmas Gauntlet and then probably everyone will get bored and leave until the feature presentation begins at maybe 7PMish, the reason for the season, Tokyo Godfathers  That's this coming Saturday https://cytu.be/r/okayletswatchanime

Is there an up to date guide about how to set up Cytube? I'd like to get into the livestreaming racket but a lot of the guides seem to be quite out of date. Any advice would be fantastic.

Setting up a cytube channel is super easy, you just register. The hard part is compatible videos, because it won’t handle soft subs. If what you want is already hosted somewhere else you can usually link from there if you can find the source video link. Otherwise if you want to stream something you pulled from nyaa you’ll need to encode the video with hard subs and put it up on google drive or something. I think the first post has a little more about encoding

A lot of times the audio is in a lossy format like aac already, so you want to pass the audio instead of reencoding it. I wrote a guide in the op.

Thanks for the advice ages ago. I've finally started looking into cytube and have managed to get a few files to work, however, google drive doesn't seem to want to play some video files in the browser (= it won't work on cytube). Is there a hard and fast rule about what file formats etc. google drive will play in this fashion?

and even then sometimes google just says gently caress you but i've found if you just have drive make a copy of the video file it hosed up, that tends to make a working version for some reason.

 Emergency Stream Update (because I only just now looked at my google drive and saw that everything was finished uploading) 2nite @ 8PM eastern, we begin a yearlong journey into the world of live action drama. Featuring one entire Asadora, one entire Taiga Drama, and a year long rotating selection of other stuff, old and new. Starting with    Amachan, the 156(!) episode Asadora about a city girl that moves out to the sticks and becomes an ama, diving for sea urchins (and then I'm told some other stuff happens), Ryomaden, 48 episode Taiga Drama about the Bakumatsu, and the live action version of Aim For The Ace.
