I like it. But everytime I look at panel B, the one on the right looks like rabbit ears or horns, not tusks. Everything else is perfect and could be framed and put up on the wall.

It’s the shrew equivalent to putting up one’s dukes. Ronald W. Olsen, Agonistic Behavior of the Short-Tailed Shrew (Blarina Brevicauda), Journal of Mammalogy, Volume 50, Issue 3, 22 August 1969, Pages 494–500, https://doi.org/10.2307/1378776 quote:Observations were made on the agonistic behavior of 39 Blarina brevicauda matched in pairs in a test cage. Nine agonistic behavior patterns, including four action patterns and five postures, are described. Analyses were made to determine the function of each posture in terms of an opponent’s reaction to it. Each of the five agonistic postures serves to intimidate the opponent in varying degrees. These postures are termed threat postures and their possible functions are discussed in terms of territoriality and species recognition.

Dr. Arbitrary posted:Ugh, this graph is terrible. I can't believe that people make graphs like this and expect to be taken seriously. At least the axes are labeled, but there's no indication of units or amount, and there's no source. It’s not even a real function, since it fails the vertical line test in the middle. Did the Mississippi/Louisiana border move at some point?
|
# ? Jan 15, 2020 21:46 |

Not really. At statehood, Louisiana lacked the Florida parishes, but they were added later in 1812, and they were never part of Mississippi, either state or territory. That's just a bad map.
