I knew he was concerned about his health, especially brain health, because he wore that little neck halo to try and prevent concussions. Still didn't expect anything like this. The panthers being poo poo probably had something to do with it, as well as maybe not wanting to deal with a whole new coaching staff

He had a down year (for him) year in the panthers abortion of a 3-4. I just don't think he wants to restart with a new coach and new system. And that's fine. He's one of the five greatest players in Panthers history and has a good shot at the HoF. Good on him for getting out with what's left of his health.
