can we talk about videogame soundtracks a bit? i've been thinking about how my speed metal prog rock loving rear end was inspired by f zero, and i will take any opportunity to praise hotline miamis soundtrack as this loving song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SNE2oCZH_4k remains, to this day, my "get poo poo loving DONE" song

I did this a couple of times recently to try to completely avoid Rise of Skywalker trailers and holy moly, if I had known what a dumb movie it was gonna be I wouldn't have bothered. Anyway, here's a good song from HM1 or 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z9CuaJZpxK0

Gone Fashing posted:dont take this the wrong way but the souls games are like dr who to me, i dont want to play them because of their fanbase. im probably wrong to think that I totally get this. A lot of folks like to evangelize the difficulty of them and tell new players to just "get good" if they hit a boss they can't defeat. Honestly, the games aren't extremely difficult in general, they just kind of encourage a slower more careful pace that most third person action games. It's less "holy poo poo this is the hardest game ever" and more "if you run into this spooky castle at 100mpg tilt there's a good chance that 10 skeletons are going to surround and kill you, slow down and really take in the spooky castle, bud!"

Lil Swamp Booger Baby posted:Breath of the Wild felt like they made an amazing engine with brilliant mechanics and then just didn't get to the content. Like you never find any truly unique items or cool stuff in the world, just Korok seeds, and the shrines are all really small, unsatisfying dungeons. When I played I felt like I was constantly stumbling across cool stuff, whether it was a new piece of armour, a weapon I'd never seen before (or one I'd had ages ago and then broken and really liked), new ingredients, a beautiful piece of scenery, some sort of crumbling ruin, or even just a nice hang-gliding spot. Couldn't swing a cat in that game without hitting something that made me go "oooooo". Heather Papps posted:also holy poo poo let me be zelda loving hell, for once. At least BotW finally gave us female Link, although for some reason they hosed up a bunch of the dialogue. |

You can play as Zelda in Cadence of Hyrule, the game like Crypt of the Necrodancer. I played most of the game as her.

Yeah futari is the sequel. id like to play it too but AFAIK theres no way to do it on PC and im certainly not gonna buy a japanese 360 so when it comes to cave games i gotta make due with what can be reasonably/accurately emulated and the table scraps they gave us on steam |
