I saw a tweet that mentioned this interesting fact

quote:

"A Russian government-controlled bank deposited at least half a billion dollars into the American subsidiary of Deutsche Bank around the time that the bank lent Trump his most scrutinized loans, according to exclusively obtained confidential bank records. As Trump received loans from the subsidiary, DBTCA, totaling over $360 million, Gazprombank sent $511 million in cash to DBTCA to be dispersed however it directed.

$360 million is 70% of $511 million.

the middleman cost of laundering money is roughly 30% of the total in most criminal enterprises

that matches what DBTCA loaned out to trump and what it kept for itself

I have what is largely just a thought experiment, because this situation is never going to happen. But I've been curious because it's one aspect of this impeachment I haven't seen mentioned, and I figure it could be a fun thread to pull.

Let's say Trump is actually removed from office (this is the part that won't happen, but let's just say it does). Can he run again? Turns out that depends on what the Senate decides. He could be disqualified from running again if they choose, but they could not.

If he can run again...is he still running in 2020 and Pence is just a placeholder President?

Is Pence now running for President, potentially against Trump? He hasn't filed any paperwork to do so, because you run for office as a person, not as the Office of the President. So I imagine the convention would be a mad dash to figure out who to nominate, and would probably end up with Trump if he's allowed to run again.

But again, what if he can't?

It's an unprecedented scenario, because no President has ever run for President while being impeached. And again, just an experiment, this isn't going to happen. It's certainly the maximum chaos option. But I'm curious to hear everyone's thoughts.

It was always going to die in the Senate and there were always going to be more crimes to come out after the vote to impeach had happened.

No it's gonna die loudly in the senate after Chris Coo s drags in Hunter Biden and lets the GOP make this about Bidenghazi instead of the impeachment in exchange for getting Bolton to testify, who will call in sick instead of testifying and face no consequences
