Two things I remember, one was a guy having sex with a girl in the upstairs bedroom of a row house, while her dad banged on the wall shared by the neighbor's, an elderly couple, and that they should be ashamed of themselves at their age. In the same movie, the guy has to negotiate a business deal with a woman, so she had two other women give him a full, naked sexual massage and then states the percentage rate of their business deal will be determined by how many times he makes her come. 3% a time, but he's a stud and gets up to 9% at least before they're done and she says "you're ruining me." I've probably said too much, but this has been bugging me for a long time.

Can we not have a repeat if the PYF Porn GIF thread from a long rear end time ago? That got real weird, real quick. On topic: Looking for what was probably an old rear end fan comic about Kid Dracula (or Young Alucard?) that I probably saw on Castlevania Dungeon or similar site in the early 2000s. I did look through what they had up still, but nothing really seemed to be what I was looking for. In particular, what I want is the single panel where in the background there is a poster that says "Who is Slogra?" and an image of the monster of the same name. I feel like it may have been a wanted poster, but am not totally clear. I do know that the phrase "Who is Slogra?" has stuck in my head for years and was a bit of a thing in my friend group. I'm trying to find a copy of a book originally bought from a Scholastic bookmobile in elementary school. It was titled "The Wooden Horse of Troy" and had a lot of stylized illustrations like on Greek pottery. People, clothing; it had an aesthetic that I liked.

Movie/Show on TV. Early 2000s or late 90s. Guy is in his tighty whities on a bed, flexing his butt in a funny way to make a woman in the room laugh. The scene then escalates to this guy hitting her with what I remember is a 2X4 asking, "Why'd you make me do it?" This scarred me and I need to put it to rest.

Unfortunately no. The copy I had was from the 1970s with classical and almost geometric lines worked into the people and what they were wearing. Vintage childrens book as keywords got me closer but no hits. The SEE-INSIDE illustration from this one is more fluid and emotional. Interesting in its own way.

A psychobilly song from the 90s, had a video but I can't remember much about it other than the singer was bald and had on a white shirt. All I remember is the chorus: boom, ta-tow, who's your papaw now?

I'm looking for the name of this cartoon my wife and I saw about 5-6 years ago that we only caught the tail end of and have only vague memories of. We feel like it was Family Guy, or Bob's Burgers, or something like that but can't find any actual episodes that match what we half-remember of it. 1. There were obviously main characters, which we think might have been two kids and a dad or grandfather. There may have been an animal companion who is also a main character and otherwise acts like a human. 2. It was set on a boat, we think with multiple levels like a cruise ship or an old paddlewheel steamboat. 3. We *think* the main characters were saving the boat passengers and/or themselves from a flood or storm, or maybe even the end of the world. This might have involved time travel. 4. We think one or more of the passengers might have been a ghost or spirit or something. We half-remember that she might have been dressed in a fancy late 1800s style. Maybe. 5. I think they saved the people and themselves and maybe returned to their own time. 6. I don't think this is an obscure cartoon. We would have seen it on the Disney Channel or Cartoon Network or something like that. This happened in 2014, and the show seemed like it was recent. Please help us with this mystery. You're our only hope.

Although I’m sure the episode that comes to mind from your description would have aired after 2014, they have a lot of boat scenes. Plus in later seasons there is an axolotl character!

A story about Picasso. Basically he never carried money or a wallet. Instead he would just write down his name or scribble something on a piece of paper to pay for a packet of cigarettes or a bottle of milk or whatever because he was loving Picasso. I could never find anything on the internet to say this was true.

I have a blanket that I *think* was bought in Germany in the late 70s or early 80s. It's branded "DuPont" and I got it secondhand as a small child. It's cool in the summer and warm in the winter and it's one of the only possessions that I still have from my childhood. Despite three decades of constant use it's still fluffy as new after everytime I wash it. My kids use it now but I've always been curious about the origins or if anyone else ever had one.

When the beggar protested a person scolded him and bought the drawing for $1000 because he held a motherfucking original picasso in his hands. Can't remember if I heard this story from my family or as a factoid at the Picasso Museum some years ago, but I think this story might have roots in reality and then lived on its own legs.

The way I always heard the story is that people never cashed Picasso's checks, but sell them for the signature for far more than the check's value. A variant that paints him as a bit more shrewd is that he was well aware, and it was the very reason he'd pay for everything by check.

I could never find anything on the internet to say this was true. my understanding is it involved personal checks rather than just pieces of paper; there was a good chance people with a check signed by picasso wouldn't cash it because they considered his signiature to be of more value than the face value of the check. Not sure if it's true but it makes more sense since it doesn't need the recipient to buy into the idea (they could just cash it) but still gets Picasso off without paying most of the time

There was an early ARG called Majestic. I didn't subscribe to or play it myself, but was friends with someone that did, and I watched a few times. There was this series of electronic tones that played when the game client was booted up and it was one of the most chill and satisfying things of that kind I'd ever heard, but pretty much everything about that game seems lost to time.

My insomnia's kickin' in fierce so I did some poking around, but yeah, even archive.org is shrugging at me. I'll keep digging. Still, I'd never heard of the game, and the story about it was a fun read! Holy moly, imagine an ARG where you give out your actual phone number/email/IM handle/fax number (wooo, 2001) and real live people from EA would call you up with Art Bell-style rantings in the middle of the night. poo poo's wild. tl;dr for those of you who are curious: it debuted in July 2001, then 9/11 happened, and suddenly getting crazy random faxes at work about shadowy gov't X-files-esque conspiracies wasn't really appealling. EA put it on hiatus, then pulled the plug in early 2002, to the tune of a $5 million loss.

FilthyImp posted:It was also one of the earliest attempts at a subscription based game, iirc. It even had a pacing system that would keep you from blowing through the game in a day or two. Yeah one of the archived articles I read said they had 800k people check out the first free "episode", 70k actually subscribed and paid, and then after they went on hiatus after 9/11 and came back, they only had 10K subscribers so it financially tanked. They also mentioned the pacing system, which sounds cool and good to me, you couldn't really cheat your way to the end because if you beat a... episode, level, idk? too fast, they wouldn't contact you with more info until some time had passed. Whole thing seems really intricately built and way ahead of its time. I don't even casually game or get into ARGs but I find it fascinating.

A very specific edition of an atlas of the world that I would always look at in elementary, illustrated for young people- key details I remember: -World map of countries colored by human development on scale from "Very Poor, Poor, Rich, to Super Rich" (Super Rich is green). -Published in the early 1990s AFTER the fall of the Soviet Union but BEFORE the end of Apartheid- featured a picture of a South African sign with a skull and crossbones warning of "Savage Dogs, Spring Guns, Man Traps". -Cyrillic alphabet on the bottom of the Russia page. Overall lots of other cool details I'm forgetting that made it actually interesting to read even as a little kid. Would love to track down a copy even now.
