Wow, I just got a 1099K form from PayPal for $1100. When I first sold poo poo on Bricklink 10 years ago, it was nice and under the radar. I guess no longer. Those of you with Bricklink stores, how do you handle the taxes? Do you file as self employed/small business, or does that number just go on a schedule somewhere?

The best way to shoot pictures of Lego is having a cat nearby. A single stroll of the cat along the set will leave you with endless joy in regard to static charged cat-hair either on the set, the lens, you, or the cat you are currently trying to murder (which is impossible because a cat is basically like a wet piece of soap once confronted) e: also never leave the softbox folded up with any of that cloth inside of it, if a cat is nearby. ee: don't get a cat!

It was hanging on a hook, last time! How did the cat figure out how to sleep in it?

I've left a few brick separators and minifigs on the base of my monitor. Any time my cat is nearby he loves to smack them off. And again and again if I dare to put them back.Wax Dynasty posted:That's an easy vote for the Nebulon B, the other two have been produced before. It's a toughie cause I feel like the Nebulon B could be kind of fragile and feels like it could easily go the way of Star Destroyers of being just a whole bunch of grey greeble? Whereas we've gotten one Tie Bomber before and the Ties upscale into UCS decently. I feel like we've gotten plenty of Gunships, and they already come pretty big, though I'd be curious what a UCS treatment would do.

Just cast my vote for that sweet clone gunship. I know star wars sets basically saved lego, but the things I wouldn’t give for something different, like a UCS Battlestar Galactica or Firefly set or something. Or maybe those are all culturally irrelevant now and I’m trapped in the abyss of my youth

I went with the Nebulon B just because it would be interesting to see if they could make it without being comically fragile. In the field that asked which mini figure should be bundled with it, I said “none” because I am an old man yelling at a cloud. Ehh, Lego's been inconsistent about that kind of thing for a long time. Originally they said Lego was 'non-violent', but of course that went out the window with the 1970s castle featuring soldiers with weapons. Then it became 'no military' which is also kind of silly because of Castle and Pirates (which had soldiers very obviously based on British and French armies of the time). Then it became 'no modern military', but they have made WWI planes and some of the superhero sets are pretty militarised. I think one of the Pixar Cars sets also had a battleship character, and there's tons of other examples too. To be fair, it's not the same as some of the knockoff brands which very much have USA vs Germany or whatever military sets. Speaking of prostitution, I'm pretty sure there were prostitution jokes in TBBT and that set was uncontroversial. I suppose it's a little different in Firefly when one of the main characters is explicitly a high-class prostitute though. In other questionable stuff, I remember that some of the Town sets from when I was a kid were explicitly labelled/described as 'smugglers'. You can't tell me that these guys aren't doing dodgy poo poo:
