PANO vs YJ as the starter (older battle boxes discontinued) at the same time as the code one simplified version, which might be in March. Then the full N4 in time for Gencon.

There's no way this will be the launch for two new sectorials. It would over shadow their new game and the tears from the non PanO and YJ players would be legendary. Also, according to Bostria, generic armies launch first in N4 with sectorials being added later. They're not play testing stuff that won't be around in six months. But there's two Satellites this weekend so we'll find out more then I'm sure.

Played in a good tournament today in Shrewsbury. I used Corregidor for the first time in a while as the missions were relatively killy. Countermeasures against Foreign Conpany, my opponent was using the big complex character link, and he pushed them hard right up to my DZ and only succeeded in trading Senor Massacre for a Jaguar, so he got badly cut up and I won more objectives than him. Tbh I was lucky throughout the game. Frontline gainst Shasvaasti. First time playing against these terrors and I was bricking it, but it wasn't too hard a list. No Taigha beasts. I over came an initial brick of TR bot and a Gwailo protecting it from smoke shooting. My linked Mobile Brigada HMG just brute forced it. McMurrough did great work all game and fortunately his 2 Cadmuses didn't work out for him. Battered him and got all the zones. I'd not read the missions and therefore forgot to include a Liaison Officer candidate! So only 9 points for me. Annihilation against Yu Jing, and this was my old friend and opponent Murkage, one of our top players. I started OK taking out his firepower pieces but I traded McMurrough and he barely made a dent, could have killed 4 models at a stroke had I been luckier. As his Turn 1 and my Turn 2 wore on, I really made a strategic error. He had really no firepower left by halfway through top of Turn 2. I should have sat back and put some of my good mimetism models into suppression fire. Could have come through it. Instead I pushed my Intruder right into the close terrain midtable to have a final-order-of-the-turn shot at his Ninja KHD. Failed and really got rolled hard by monks. In general I feel he had the luck throughout (as I did in my earlier games, to be fair). Apart from McM flipping, his kuang shi tanked antipersonnel mines, his killer hacker tagged me in a single order, his Rui Shi took out my linked Mobile Brigada in a coin flip FtF very quickly where I kind of expected to at least hold him up a few times. Just one of those things, can't complain. In the end it was very close. He had more points left than me but we seemed to both be in the same bracket for a draw. We then realised that Baggage, which we both had, counted for Victory Points but not for army points killed/surviving as an objective in the game. So I was just short of scoring anything for surviving models and I lost 6-5. The last order of the game was his only chance to get my datatracker. Chain rifle, I ws dodging. If I'd made the dodge or the ARM roll (cumulatively a 2/3 chance to survive) I would have won 7-5. As it was he won the tourney and I came 3rd, would have been reversed otherwise. Cracking close result. Got the new Nomad/PanO dire foes box as a prize! Flipswitch posted:Agreed. I have not played against it. Some people report good use of him as a close quarters firepower piece - he's BS13 and at 4-4 with superjump he isn't massively slowed down by the team following on, but can get the good angles with those nice burst and BS bonuses. I guess you'd take an hmg or feuerbach or something to fight through into the mid table from your starting position, then he takes over. I've also heard it theorised that you then break the link by co-ord suppressive firing all the securitate, then they stay in place as roadblocks while he goes killing. Personally I think it's a toss up whether that's worth the trouble maneuvering or the risk to a big chunk of orders. Perseus is a good attack piece on his own (I especially like him in 16" DZ missions) and you could still take a core fireteam and leave them as a defensive brick.

Yeah - He doesn't quite fit into how I want to play my teams at the moment, but he seems decent! I'm experimenting with Kovacs for now as an offensive breaker combi and specialist piece. I like Perseus as a solo piece, I love me some super jump!Genghis Cohen posted:Murkage, one of our top players.

Do your bases you bugger. Any suggestions for some proxies for Zondbots? My Doctor and Engineer for my Tunguskans are just HVTs because they look way better, but right now I'm just proxying Slave Drones. I could try to split box some of the newer helper bot models and just say they're bought ones I guess?
