Speaking as someone who has seen literally every episode of SNL ever released, it tends to ebb and flow in quality. It can go a few years without 2 decent shows in a row, or have an entire quality season.

There are lots of reasons not to like it though. For one, the tone and type of comedy varies greatly depending on the cast. People who find Adam Sandler funny are often not the same people who find Kyle Moonie funny.

A second big reason is that the jokes often relate to things that happened that week. If you aren't familiar then a lot of it is just nonsense even a year later.

Third, comedy itself has a sort of meta that changes over the years. Some jokes hold up over time, but most go flat like a soda you left out.

This concludes my Ted talk. Also, I watched them all but I didn't sperg over them or anything so I won't pretend to be a subject matter expert, just a long time consumer. I can't tell you the names of all the cast members from x season or anything, because IDGAF.

All that said, for my money Keenan is never not funny, and I hope I still think that 10 years from now.

Bloomberg doesn't want to win, he just wants to muddy the waters so that someone who wants to tax him more doesn't get in.

Gotta nuke something
Here's another tip for SNL.

Stop making EVERY SINGLE GODDAMN intro sketch a political sketch. We get it, Trump and crew are morans. They're so dumb there's literally nothing SNL can do to write a sketch more funny than reality when it comes to the Trump admin. But it's not just Trump, the intro sketch being a political sketch goes back decades. When was the last time they had an intro sketch that wasn't politics? Late 80's, maybe? Ever since Bush Sr got into power, they've been mining politics for the cheapest, bottom of the barrel laughs for every single intro sketch.

They are making a MacGruber series and they really shouldn't. The movie wasn't good and the character has no depth.

Also, I personally really like the political opening sketches. They always do them when things in DC are crazy, and that's pretty much always the case atm.

They'll never do it, since it's part of the shows history, but who's looking for some laffs, but they want it broken up with badly lipsynced music in a room with terrible acoustics.
Disagree. The one way to improve SNL is to do no research and book some crazy loving music act.

There's a thing the writers do if they want a cheap and easy laugh and it's to just add the line "Kenan reacts" to the script.

It's an anti-corporate-broadcasting song and Michaels probably took it as a "gently caress you." And it was, but Costello was directing it at Columbia Records.
