If you don't heal up before taking more damage in that phase, game over. That's what I meant by I didn't like to use items .I preferred to try and get a friend hand or use a Regroup. Don't know why you're not constantly spamming items tbh.

Wasn't there a leak that said a Jenova form is the final boss? Wonder how long this is if they're showing the final boss in the trailers... EDIT: I was going to ask if they really lip synced both language versions but apparently they have some auto-lip syncing program they use that they've had since FF13. The whole trailer was a curated sizzle reel of "you want to know if this is in here? It is, and cooler and flashier than you expected." I also want to commend the English voice acting. Everyone just feels right, and they didn't rely on the Anime Dub Regulars at all. Not a single Troy Baker or Nolan North to be found.

If so they have sure kept it under wraps We're definitely 100% getting the Kalm flashback in this game because it is the setup for the entire plot and not having it in the first installment will leave everyone who doesn't already know the plot wondering why they should even give a poo poo about sephiroth to begin with. The way the original did the buildup to Sephiroth was great but unfortunately if you stretch out Midgar to 30 hours and then make everyone wait 2 to infinity years to keep playing you kill the pacing on that buildup and have to radically change how it works. This is why you actually see Sephiroth showing up in Midgar now: if he didn't then he just wouldn't even be in the game, and they'd have to put out a game called Final Fantasy 7 Remake that contained 0 sephiroth. The main question at this point is whether the Kalm flashback actually happens in Kalm, and the game is actually Midgar + Kalm + maybe the mithril mines, or if they just jam it in earlier so that it still acts as Sephiroth's proper introduction before they have him start showing up in person.

Those last lines from Aerith are interesting, I guess. In the original it's Cloud who says Shinra isn't the real enemy and there's something far more dangerous than them. Aerith was, despite her powers, pretty clueless and relatively normal at this point. I think her being in Midgar was supposed to have basically restricted her access to the Planet and its wisdom. Here she is not only more of the pure maiden but also apparently has a greater knowledge of what's going on from the start.

Elentor did a good job of summing up the love triangle in the game of Tifa and Aeris being opposites of what you would expect.
