Based on reddit comments from people on the ground in Iowa, they seem really concerned heading into the weekend and are targeting Warren voters more now. Seems like progressive leaning voters they talk to are now going back to her because she's more "electable". The Senate voting not to call witnesses for Trump trial seems to have helped the narrative that we need someone electable ASAP to beat Trump. The fear now is that Butt and Sanders under-perform past polling while Biden and Warren over-perform. Warren is seizing on this development in the Senate with "Unite the Party" ads and Biden with his "we can't take a risk now" campaign. Hopefully next 3 days make a difference to combat this BS.

The electability thing is bizarre when it's obvious Sanders would've won pretty easily in 2016.

Bernie becoming president is the worst possible scenario for liberals like Warren and Clinton. Trump winning against Bernie is okay because then Clinton is proved right and Warren has the best possible chance for the 2024 election where Republicans would probably have a 100% risk of losing. If Bernie becomes president then Clintons whole legacy goes to poo poo as her DNC shenanigans will look directly responsible for Trump winning in 2016 and Warrens next chance at the presidency will be at 78 years of age.

im pooping! posted:what is ratfucking? Ratfucking is slang for political dirty tricks, like setting up false organizations claiming to support a candidate that makes them look bad, or releasing a forged statement from a campaign. That sort of thing. It became a famous term thanks to Woodward and Bernstein's "All the President's Men", which talked about some of the stuff that the Nixon 1972 campaign did to sabotage Democratic candidates they thought would be a threat against Nixon. quote:also what is lanyard? A lanyard's basically a cord you can wear around your neck, wrist, or belt to carry keys and ID cards. "Lanyard dick" is used as an insult by parts of the left (Maybe originated by the left wing podcast Chapo Trap House, but I'm not sure) to refer to people working for the Democratic party establishment, with the connotation that they're amoral and don't really have any strong political views other than loyalty to the party, but know a lot about the minutiae of process. quote:also what is succ?

Just got back from canvasing for Bernie in Colorado Springs. Felt great just to get out of the misery hole that is the internet and work off some nervous energy, but also to just talk and listen to people about their issues. Unfortunately we didn't see too many people because it's an absolutely gorgeous day here and people are probably out enjoying it. C Springs is a big military town for a lot of reasons, and it helped that I was able to relate to a lot of people as a veteran. Didn't find anyone who was 100% on board with Bernie (didn't help that everyone we talked to was 60 or older), but planting the seed is what's important. Bernie's gonna win y'all.

Epicurius posted:Succ is a misspelling of "suck". "Succdem" is used as an insult for the DSA/Democratic Socialists of America (as a take off of Soc Dems, even though the DSA is made up of Democratic Socialists, not Social Democrats). I think it started on the right, but you're more likely to see it used by the left these days for those people who think the DSA isn't left wing enough for them. I don't know if that's how it's used elsewhere, but that's definitely not how Succ is used on SA. Generally speaking, people on SA using succ are talking about centrists and Democratic establishment types, as well as donut twitter or khive assholes. So succdems are people like Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Kamala Harris, etc., but also people like that loving horse.
