Inceltown posted:"I don't use social media, it's not for me". This is actually the second worst option because then they just assume you're lying. The key is to have a carefully curated social media account for employers and the government to find. Then you have a separate one for actual posting. If you're a really advanced user you will split fun and politics into separate accounts because rando gamers will wreck your poo poo 10 years down the line for what you posted today.

I have a Twitter for indie horror games. That's all my social media unless you count this place. My employer is the federal government (kinda) and they've never asked me about social media which is nice because it seems like companies have gotten really weird about it re: the hiring process. https://twitter.com/Buncahn/status/1223434167658012672?s=19

Why would you even reward small children for attendance anyway? It's not like they've got any control over it.

It's not really about the kids that miss school for being sick or going on family trips. I teach at a Title 1 school and there are kids who miss 50+ days a year strictly because they don't have a family structure at home that gives a poo poo if they go or not. We have a bunch of programs to try to increase attendance, little things like rewards for perfect attendance seem silly but they are meaningful to kids.

Lol i remember goons defending that because they basically wanted to play Arbitrage Simulator. They weren't even using the Real Money one, just the in game gold one. To explain the "ruined the game" comment for folks who didn't play it: Diablo type games are a loot treadmill, where you kill monsters to get cool items/upgrades so you can kill tougher monsters, etc. In order to push people to use the auction house, they made the stuff that dropped from monsters kinda lovely and sparse, meaning that in order to progress, or progress more easily, you'd have to go search out upgrades in the auction house. They also made the game always online, because they didn't want you playing if you weren't three clicks away from dropping cash for upgrades. As an example, when playing immediately after release, i realized in late act 2 that i was level 20 or so, but nothing was dropping higher than like level 12. So i went to the in-game currency auction house, bought a moderately ok weapon that was actually my level and tripled my DPS. I never found anything better in the rest of the game, and i played until the end of act 1 of the second difficulty. (About 10-12 hours.)

I heard they fixed diablo 3 and it turned out great but I only played for the first week of launch and then lost interest.
