They’re using an app to tally results. Either the geriatric boomers don’t know how to use a smartphone (ageism sue me) or its a deficient system with bugs, or there’s some hacking going on. But does it matter? It was gonna be a bad idea anyway.

The app was written by Hillary's 2016 campaign manager and you have to keep tapping the screen because if the screen goes to sleep while they're punching the official results into the reporting app everything is deleted when it comes back on and they have to start over. I know this boondoggle could have just been what was going down but I am so distrustful of the DNC that I immediately wonder how they're trying to gently caress over Sanders with this. I don't like thinking this way, it's upsetting and doesn't make me feel good about our democracy (among other things that do that)

I love how one of the reasons for using an app is that it's "faster". What does getting everything in a few hours earlier than they used to matter at all? It's literally the first contest in the entire national race. They could use bicycle messengers to gather the results and still have plenty of time.

Wow you're right, maybe they'll come together as a unit and solidify behind whoever the nominee is and help campaign in battleground states and engage their younger Congress people who have done great at mobilizing voters and outreach to help with voter registration and turning out the vote.
