I'm telling you, one of the first things I would do for a social program is a state sponsored uber equivalent dedicated to taking folks to/from work and other commuting. I worked as a recruiter for industrial companies in the midwest and so many folks were functionally disqualified for jobs because they did not have transportation.

I think we’re underestimating how many Warren supporters still basically view her as “Bernie with girl power”
Healthcare is what voters are most concerned about so if Warren drops out they’re gonna movie towards the other Medicare for all candidate

My experience on Monday was that only a small fraction of Warren voters had Bernie as a second choice. They mostly were leaning to Buttigieg. I was actually released when she barely made the viability threshold because it was clear her supporters dispersing would have been a net negative for Sanders.

she is definitely coming off as "bernie w/ girl power" to a lot of those Sanders>Warren voters, I'm glad she has started to distance herself on some issues but she's mostly dragged it back and probably won a few "presidential decorum" points.

so yeah her dropping is probably good. i dont think we'd get 100% of that back but probably more than pete/bloomberg

The Bernie Bro narrative is tailor made for allowing them to claim the moral high ground while still loving Bernie over.

I couldn’t say what the odds are, but Warren endorsing Pete fits with what we know about her and her base would happily vote for him so long as rapacious capitalism had a LGBTQA+ gloss. They’d very quickly make voting for a gay candidate rather than a cis het white man their justification too.

Tell them Pete's not even really gay, dude doesn't even bottom. He's just a gaybro

Then show them this

Warren supporters should be able to understsnd backing a candidate that takes advantage of a false identity

Is that going to present a problem for Sanders’ political project?

I don't think so? In the immediate future, the AFL-CIO is going to fall-in-line behind Sanders, and most other big unions already have.

And the flipside is that so much of the working class is not-unionized that even in a situation where the unions were somehow maneuvered into opposing Sanders, he can still tap workers as a whole.

Further, Sanders does have a lot of plans, such as repealing the Taft-Hartley Act, that would re-empower unions, at which point they'd owe their fortunes back to him and would likely continue to align with him.

Any kind of repeat of this ideological rift I'm referring to with regards to Free Trade Unionism vis-a-vis The State would require that unions be so much more powerful in the first place, and any kind of long-term problems with that relationship are kind of rolled into the bigger problem of Social Democracy as not being existentially antagonistic to capitalism (Democratic Socialism is supposed to be, but we'll see when we get there).

Maybe, but even if there wasn't a single slip up and someone didn't make it, it would still not be a good idea to release anything until full reporting is completed. If the Bernie camp released a full set with a single error, the narrative would be that the complete set is suspect. By making the IDP go first the narrative is much more controllable.

Either way, nobody is gonna get the complete data set before the IDP tally is completed.

Especially since there were assuredly places where somebody put in a wrong number so they need the IDP results to compare against and decide where somebody fat fingered in a 2 instead of a 3 and where something legitimately incorrect happened.
