I have to say if a billionaire wants into anything bigger than city dog catcher he's probably looking for a grift of some sort whether its for him or his bros, because if he wants to affect real change he has the ability to do it without having some sort of public office. So regardless of how not lovely Tom Steyer may appear to be, he's an rear end in a top hat for doing that. It's confusing as to why nobody's asked him if he cared so much about america that he would invest in a presidential run, why not give St. Jude an entire operating budget for FY2020, or fund the Warchests of various politicians who are trying to do good, or really any number of things that will do immediate and useful good instead of possibly reaching the presidency and getting hamstrung by a red senate?

I’m not the biggest Bernie fanboy, but honestly he’s the only one that could debate Trump without getting flustered. Hilary did a good job during the debates because she’s incredibly intelligent and shrewd, but she is also an idiot in so many other ways that cost her the election. Biden, Warren, and Pete would all fail if backed into a corner. Klobachar might be ok too, but she’s such a crappy candidate that it doesn’t matter.

I feel like whoever the Dem candidate is, the best debate strategy (if Trump even shows up, I doubt he will) is to just let him dig his own grave and ignore him. Sanders could do that, I think Warren if she fell back onto the strategy she used against Scott Brown might be able to pull it off. IDK about Klobacher. lol @ Pete being able to do a good job. Biden wouldn't so much as fluster as just argue with Trump for an hour and a half.

I feel like a good way of dealing with Trump on a debate stage is just ignore him. Talk about his points as if he weren't in the room, if he asks a direct question treat him as if he's a child trying to butt in on the adults conversation, if asked about what he just said say something to the tune of "Oh I just thought it was obvious to yall why that's dumb" until he goes apoplectic and actually says some of the quiet parts out loud. Trying to corner someone in a debate who doesn't care about "truth" is a fools game.
