Woolie would absolutely love it if he had picked it up at his own pace, but the constant badgering and the way he's chosen to watch the earlier, weakest arcs like one episode at a time pretty much guarantees he'll never "get" it. Which really bums me out because I can imagine the conversations that would be had later in the series if he were invested but now he never will.

I think Woolie was never gonna like it because Woolie doesn't like things he's set on not liking (gently caress, Pat is better at the whole changing his mind thing), but HxH is probably the best shonen around. Gon in 60 Seconds is basically just playing poo poo up to hilarious effect.

I would consider HxH the best shounen of the Heisei Era, above Dragonball, Naruto, One Piece and the rest. Reiwa era shounen? Demon Slayer so far.

lmfao when woolie took the camera and zoomed in on reggie, and reggie was covering his face going "I'm blinking to signal I need help!" and then said "someone call the swat team!" but IMMEDIATELY realized what he said, his eyes went wide, and he was like NO NO NO NO NO  I really love the reggie/woolie combo. I also really love that woolie is really loving DOOM. I figured he'd never play it due to his motion sickness from FPSes.

And I'm real glad least one of the zaibatsu is still doing multiplayer/multiple commentary stuff. I like Pat and Matt's solo stuff but it really feels lesser without someone else there. Also Minh is such a loving poo poo talker when he's in the lead. It's great.

I've heard it's surprisingly good, despite the anime version adding WAYYYYY more porn to it. I guess it's surprisingly open minded about trans stuff and sexuality in general? Haven't followed it myself.

Like no matter how funny it is considering how explucit I've heard it gets that's a big loving yikes. from what I've heard of the controversy, the manga is far more clinical and less raunchy about the actual sex activities, but since anime has a specific runtime, they needed...something to fill that time. so they just straight up put porn in there to fill the gap, and funimation didn't even realize what they were licensing with that.  super sucks for the entire translation and VA team hired to do it, though. whoops, 3 episodes in and you're out of a job, surprise!

According to someone in discord the manga is mostly them talking poo poo and getting into arguments in a pub and doesn't show anything explicit? Then the anime is like 60% softcore porn with  poo poo. Which I dunno sounds like a really bad adaptation to me!

I think Woolie going through Doom 2016 has been my favorite thing since SBF broke up. Always great to watch someone open up to a genre they don't usually play. Also reliving Doom.
