Yeah my mother and brother are 100% convinced that if healthcare was free at point of use then all the good doctors and nurses would move to other countries and all the government doctors would be bad and "real" doctors would cost extra.

I try to explain that in either scenario, we cannot afford the good, expensive doctors, but in one of the scenarios there is still free healthcare available, even if it's lower quality, and they just shrug and go "well, i dunno..."

Just don't talk politics with anyone in your family, it's just a waste of time.

Yeah avoiding talking politics is the only way I'm able to maintain a healthy relationship with my parents. Every once in a blue moon they will say something so dumb I just can't not say something though . To be fair to them, they clearly try to avoid talking about it too, so at least they aren't actively trying to jam it down my throat of anything.

I get it, but also don’t let lovely ideals go unchallenged. Even if it doesn’t change their mind, make sure they know they’re loving brainwashed idiots who’ll kill us all if things go their way.

Nah it really isn't worth it. Go rage in the streets, canvas, punch nazis...but ruining an otherwise good relationship with your own family over politics isn't worth it even if they are brainwashed.

Or at the very least challenge their ideals in a way that doesn't ruin your family imo.

Almost as if an entire generation has reached a level of being squeezed to such a degree that it is impossible to rationalize in any way in the age of information where all machinations are mostly known by a theo-plutocracy with its hand around the world's throat that can't hide its history and deeds from the young working class anymore. A whole class of Wesley Everetts. Like it's the ps4 thread and all but we can't let this poo poo go and like univbee said, frankly we shouldn't.

I went and got lunch with my Fox News loving mom recently and mentioned how much it sucked getting nailed with a bunch of unexpected medical bills out of nowhere.

Mom: Well, it could have been much worse Veni! When Sherry (her best friend) got sick last year they had over $55,000 dollars in medical bills out of pocket, even though they have very good insurance!
Me: that's terrible though
Mom: Uhhh, No it's not. The got the best healthcare because we are in America
Me: Well it still sucks she got financially ruined because she got sick. That's not good mom
Mom: She didn't. They were good at saving and had enough money for retirement to cover it
Me: That still sucks she lost her life savings because she got sick.
Mom: (rage increasing) WELL IF YOU WANT THAT SOCIAL WHATEVER HEALTHCARE WHY DON'T YOU JUST GET OUT OF THIS COUNTRY! GO HAVE FUN WITH THAT! IN CANADA IT TAKES OVER A YEAR TO EVEN SEE A DOCTOR!
Me: no it doesn't
Mom: Well that's what I heard!
Me: and I'd rather just vote for people here that are pushing for better policies
Mom: Well I hope you get what you want!
Me: Uh, thanks? Me too!

Sorry for the internet conversation recap I know those are the worst.

Video game chat: If I am remembering it properly, this is an actual plot point in Metal Gear Rising. No one believes that a major military contractor is kidnapping thousands of children and harvesting their brains to turn them into child soldiers because it’s too evil to be believed. People who end up with artificial soldier bodies are stuck working for mercenary groups because that is the only job that pays enough to cover the maintenance on the robo-bodies.

Also coming from Sekiro to BB has been weird. Is Sekiro in the same engine as the rest of the Souls games? Obviously it was developed much latter, but it has so much more visual polish and has much less jank than the Souls games. BB owns though. I’m only up through BSB but I think I am liking it more. Sekiro has had better boss fights, but fighting regular enemies is far more fun in BB. You can actually take on more than one enemy at a time (though you can still get wrecked pretty quick), while in Sekiro your only option is to run away or spam certain prosthetics.

You dont "spam" prosthetics. You use them when you are outnumbered yes but that's what they are for.

Ninjutsu skills (Bloodsmoke, Puppeteer and Bestowal) are also specifically meant to be used against groups because they weaponize corpses.
