Carly shook her glass, willing the ice to melt. "You still haven't told me what the mission is."

She leaned forward. "We are going to assassinate the bad men of Hollywood."

I have Leviathan. I've got 58% readiness and about 50k (or 5k?) war assets (the bar is almost full). Is there low, medium and good? Or just bad and good endings?

Your EMS score can affect some potential character deaths on Earth if it's really low, and the cinematics in the lead-up to the final mission. It might also keep you from getting one of the endings that everybody hates, so who cares about that. But overall no, it won't have a "mass effect" on the story!

It is? That sucks. Like, it's not even designed in a way that a premium/deluxe release could come out later that isn't filled with microtransactions and is a full game?

There's Gardening Mama, Stardew Valley, Rune Factory, Harvest Moon, Story of Seasons, and most of that is more life-simmy save for Gardening Mama, but I did find this article from 2018 listing some gardening games you might be interested in. I haven't checked the whole thing yet but the first title alone, Mr. Tulip Head, looks neat.

It's been well over a year since it came out and while supposedly it might come to PC, every time I check there's been no news except for people begging them on their facebook page to ditch the microtransactions to no avail. So even if it does get a PC release it feels like it might still be that way.

Ok so here's how it goes.

The time skip is basically just saying "ok everybody's gonna go do their own training arc" and Sanji's training arc was this.

His was basically just spending 2 years running away from transvestites who want to make him into a transvestite and he is on the isle of transvestites trying to learn the secret cooking methods of the transvestites that will give him better attack power. Post timeskip he has escaped from "Hell" as he calls it and he has a lovely new schtick where because he spent 2 years only seeing transvestites, seeing a sexy woman is enough to make his entire body become petrified in glee.

Note that I've only played one piece pirate warriors 3 so idk how much of that matters in the source material, I just know that in the game itself once the timeskip happened I kept getting little alerts telling me that Sanji had been petrified and that I had to go bail him out. I dunno if that mechanic is just ignored entirely if you're playing as him or what, though I know you have to use your team combo things (idk what the actual name is) to hit any enemies that are women since he won't hit them normally. I don't know which of the games you're playing so maybe it is different there.

One Piece is a mixed bag. At certain times like with Bon Chan/Ivankov Oda seems cool at least by 90's anime standards, and then there's Sanji.

i was talking about this with friends earlier today but like, theres a lot of trans people in one piece and if you just look at them, theyre mostly pretty gross stereotypical caricatures. but like at the same time, theyre all very clearly The Good Guys, you are meant to cheer for them, luffy is friends with them, and theyre all really powerful. so its like ??? i dont always know how to feel. he tries i guess

Have Oda's women been getting any better design-wise or is he still drawing coconuts on sticks? I know he got real bad with that kinda thing but idk if he still is drawing every women as a progressively thinner, bustier version of themselves or if he has toned that down a bit.

Yeah.... I mean his style is extremely cartoony and its easy for that to turn into caricature. I think his heart is in the right place but...

Japan definitely has LGBT issues, but the US does too. :sigh:

There's plenty of women in one piece who aren't built like models. But like I said above, he does a very VERY exaggerated cartoon style so... yeah.

Personally the aesthetic of One Piece is a bit of a turn off for me, but the story is pretty slapstick so it kinda works.

I feel like the thing with Oda is he's mostly familiar with the drag scene when it comes to gender nonconformity. Which seems to be a common thing in older people in Japan and elsewhere. And he has old fashioned though not disapproving views on it. Which leads to the 'okama' being badasses and a force for good whose freedom from gender roles is explicitly linked to freedom and liberty and happiness and being heroic revolutionaries.... and also a joke and used for lovely stuff with Sanji. Though even back in the prison arc you had Izuna.

The new samurai lady who is trans but not part of Ivankov's drag scene seems to be him getting told how it looked and adding someone trans that isn't part of that subculture.

Like Oda's not great and I've mostly lost interest in One Piece cause it just got too long and exhausting but he seems to actually try to improve when criticised even if it might take a while due to glacial pacing and inertia.
