As a GCW newcomer, what got RSP his heat? What I know is that he came back and ambushed Gage back when Gage was the champion, somehow got a Money in the Bank-esque title shot, then cashed it in right after somebody finally beat Gage after his two-year run as champ. Are there gaps to fill in from that?

The crowd always hates people who are affiliated with DJ Hyde, and if you add in Ohio (everyone hates Ohio) and RSP doing basic heel stuff you get a lot of heat. He's nothing special, but the outsider stuff really works in this instance because of the CZW connection.

I got free tickets to see the guy from the killers play a solo show for a crowd of maybe 50 people at the house of blues and it was literally the most depressing thing, between how pissed the guy was at the turnout and then walking through the dead house of blues themed part of the casino afterwards

He looks so loving smug all the time, too. That said, way too much bullshit in the main event. Too many run-ins and having G-Raver get 2 different "what will he do?!" spots was really pushing things.

I don't entirely disagree, especially since my first GCW was TOS4 aka part one of G-Raver Will Not Survive This Promotion, but you've got to start building those post-RSP/Gage feuds eventually. I mean, I assume everything that happened was perfectly safe he was wearing hoods for both of the light tube shots, and the hand thing looked eh at best, but, hey, Takeda just got his back extremely hosed up, so, who knows.

It's so simple. Give someone an actual grievance, let them twist it and expand it. Put sincerity behind their actions so what they're saying can't just be dismissed. One of the reasons Jay White is as good as he is in New Japan is that when he talks poo poo about someone like Goto, everything he's saying is based in fact. That's why it stings.

It was like 4 months I believe, month 5 RSP actually won the belt, month 6 Gage finally got his hands on RSP in a match with the belt on the line where he couldn't just run away, and this was the result It was a perfect storm of six months of booking (RSP stole the belt and fled the country in September)

i love so much of what gcw is doing and i think this story rules but i still just cannot stomach deathmatches i will watch when nick finally gets his revenge on rsp but i will watch it through my hands while feeling deeply uncomfortable

People that expect gcw to build feuds don't know gcw. I've watched every 2016 and 2017 show some 2018 most 2019 and all 2020. GCW building gage and rsp is the exception not the rule. Aside from online building and oddly a Teddy Hart Janela feud that lasted maybe 3 shows I can't recall a time GCW long term built a feud. GCW is most of the time standalone indy super matches. most of Gages challengers for 700 days where announced without reason as have RSPs. There's more people who are like around OI4K/OvE. Like Nevaeh is married to a Crist, Madison Rayne came up with her, that creeper dude in TNA (Ace Austin) is connected, Rich Swann has history with them. Sami seems pretty well connected all told. He even has history with Moxley. And yeah, I think the Rascalz are tied up in that. Those are the Ohio scumbags I'm familiar with.
