I wonder if bring convicted of a crime holds a bunch more stigma in Japan... I can't imagine most ppl in the us freaking out if u said u served time, most would prob assume it was for marijuana or a DUI, tho even drugs are much more illegal there, at least weed. Or is it that the word he is using in Japan denotes a more serious lvl of crime?
