I watched the video, while it's absolutely a dude dying you don't see anything except rocket go up rocket come down. One thing I noticed is that about half a second after launch, what appears to be his parachute deploys and blows away in the thrust wash. Assuming he put it there himself, well, parachutes are something you really need to know what you're doing to use. Play stupid games etc
