I haven't seen any irocs for sale in a while but a friend of mine got a firebird 305 for a steal (10k) and the last z28 305 5 speed I saw for sale was nearly 25k. Note that the Australian dollery doo is about 2/3rds the seppo dollar

So I “fixed” my leaking washer, replaced bottom seal and bearing. Have washed 6-7 times no leaks all good. Amazon had 20% off warehouse deals and I got a pan for underneath for $17 in case it ever happened again. First wash with pan underneath it leaked. Why didn’t I just buy a new washer I was flying high after fixing the oven, but I flew too close to the sun

Washers are a PITA, and the one thing I absolutely refuse to touch on them is the tub seal (top loader).

If it's an old school Maytag, I won't touch the transmission either - they were overly complicated, but they do last forever. My parents have the very last of the pre-Whirlpool Maytags (~1996 Dependable Care set); the washer has needed a timer once, the dryer needed a new blower once. That's it in 23 years, still going strong. Those fuckers will probably outlive my parents. I figure the dryer will need bearings at some point and a belt, the washer will probably need another timer sometime around 2030.

There is this account on Instagram called 'Vintage Backyard' which is a mix of Americana and...Japanica? Classic 50s and on Japanese and American stuff. Both my wife and I follow them and saw that post. I went 'aw man that Toyota jacket owns' and she agreed. She then contacted the account and asked if they'd ship to the USA. They said no, but we have a friend who lives in Japan about half the year 3 weeks at a time who happened to be there. We bought it, sent it to his house in Japan, he sent it to us here in the USA.
Because of all that though we paid $60 bucks for it. That's phenomenally cheap because if you were to pop that on eBay here in the states it would be $200 level. That BUICKBUICKBUICK jacket rules too.

I want that Ford jacket. Not necessarily because I like Ford, but I had a jacket like that as a kid in the ‘70s, matching my dad’s. I don’t recall what the featured product on that one was, if any, I just remember the offset racing stripe. I think mine was white with blue. Loved that jacket. I wonder if mom has a picture of me in it? Guess I need to find a reproduction or something.

It’s an old Maytag but I don’t know if pre 96. The tub seal was by the book and I did multiple washes with no leaks. Just shouldn’t have wasted my time and money

I'm not too worried about the virus, I suspect it's got a whole lot more infecting to do but I'm gambling on my immune system fighting it off of I do get it.

Our workplace decided last Monday to remind everyone that on a third instance of absence within a rolling 12 months you will have sick pay removed (regardless of whether you have a doctor's sick note) and will need to appeal to get it back so it's pretty likely it will spread through us.

Management obsession with sickness absence is crazy. Our office rule is if you're sick, DO NOT COME TO WORK TO INFECT EVERYONE ELSE. We can manage when you're sick, we'll do whatever you have booked in, but if you give that poo poo to everyone then we simply cannot function so please stay the gently caress away. You're not being a hero for rolling up to work infectious, you're being an utter oval office. Your job is literally not that important that you can't take a couple of days to get over it to the detriment of the others in your office.

I'm currently even more immuno-suppressed than normal, coronavirus and the basic flu scare the poo poo out of me. I'm wearing a mask anytime I go out in public. I work in a small office with a good group of people who know my situation so they're staying home if they're sick and letting me know if their kids are sick so I can avoid them. Still if I get either now it would not be good, I don't have reserves or much of an immune system. As far as stocking up we have N95 masks and our usual stockpile of canned foods.

Yup. Depends on which ecosystem you've bought into and what features you want. My dad has the Ryobi and it's okay. Mechanical gauge that's fairly accurate, but you've got to hold the switch the whole time. I've got the Milwaukee and it's got a digital gauge that you set the inflation setpoint, turn it on and walk away. It's surprisingly accurate, too. Downside is that it's 3x the price of the Ryobi.

If you care about the car, just pay a paintless dent pro. A single dent will be under $100 these days. If you've never done it before, you will leave wrinkles even if you get the dent out. The PDR guys leave wrinkles too, but they know how to fix those in addition to the main dent.

I got a craftsman 25 gallon on sale and it does everything a home mechanic would need, including the occasional brap-brap of a crank bolt. But I got it primarily for filling tires, I had one car with a persistent slow leak where I had to top it up every month, and the day my gas station decided to charge $1.50 a fill that didn't even run long enough to do all 4 tires, I said gently caress you all and started shopping.
