Sometimes I really wish that it was possible to do a proper study of wildlife dynamics over time in China, but it can't really happen because you'd have to start by acknowledging that the vast majority of even vaguely edible land animals got almost wiped out few decades ago, which is both why it would be interesting and also why it's not allowed.

These cases were pretty well known in consulates throughout China and you are right that it's usually men skipping out on their wives. The money is gone unless they left it in their personal accounts where the courts can get to it (this is worth checking) or the person leaves China again to somewhere with enforceable laws.

I am still alive and not infected for now Home learning is Great, as the schools have been canceled until after Easter. We've got some staff members who just cannot bring themselves to find out how Google Classroom works, and I have a good third of my students who I haven't heard of at all because they are in China and cannot communicate with our g suite accounts. Certain districts in Hong Kong are mask-free. If you go up to the peak or other places where rich expats live, then nobody wears masks.

Skullcap, forsythia and honeysuckle. The gently caress is that gonna do? Cheesemaster200 posted:Why do people still want to invest money in China? A lot of companies post-2008 saw a huge boost in sales coming from China. Some of them even spent a lot of money to increase their capacity under the assumption that demand from China will stay high or increase. But all this demand from China was going to be temporary because it was a result of a huge growth in debt, and there's only so much debt that can be pushed into the economy before it stops having an effect. So you have a bunch of companies trying to chase the boom they saw a decade ago but are refusing to believe that the Chinese economy is slowing down or naively hoping that the boom years will return again.

If you're a product that doesn't have a competitor in China then expect to spend a shitload of money getting established and up and running. Then a few months later all your IP and and manufacturing processes go out the back door and a local company with CCP support starts doing the same thing. Somehow all of your client data and contract info make it to this competing start-up and they undercut you until you have to close shop.

If you're in close proximity with someone who is sick for a long period of time, the masks could help you from inhaling any droplets they expel. But you'd need something like an N95 rated mask that makes a tight seal around your mouth and nose, and not those surgical masks that you see everyone in Asia typically wearing. Also, it doesn't do anything to protect your eyes from coming into contact with the droplets, or if later on you touch your mouth or nose without cleaning your hands after being near someone sick.

I just got yelled at for boarding the bus without a mask here in Korea. I suppose I should have been reading those signs. I guess you need them to enter convenience stores as well. It's a bad time to be in the service industry. I mean, it's never a good time, but now you've got all these potentially infected people to interact with all day too.
