young people are the most likely to be working jobs that don't give them adequate time off to go vote. we were seeing stories about polling places with lines lasting for hours. its an untenable position

The annoying thing to me is how you can't even use the argument of "Biden loses to Trump" on these establishment fucks, because that's not what they care about. They don't care if Biden beats Trump. All they care about is that Bernie isn't the nominee. Nothing else matters.

Hell, they'd probably prefer Trump get another 4 years.

It's going to get really bad in this country.

Probably the best thing that could happen with his campaign/volunteer infrastructure is turning it into a massive mutual aid network. Buying each other's medical debt from third parties and forgiving it, paying each other's medical GoFundMes, etc.

The difference is Bernie wont run next time, so nut up and get involved in the movement now I guess.

Put that negative energy into something positive.

Or using it for downballot races and campaigns to try and flip the Senate (or at least hit 50), cement the ownership of a Dem House and Primary less Progressive Dems.

people live a long time. i think there are still way, way too many boomers among the dem primary electorate, whose chief political motivation is fear. remember, the oldest boomers are 75-- they're starting to die, but not very quickly yet. as long as this cohort is still around, they're going to be an airbrake on any kind of progress.

trump didn't exactly self-fund iirc, did he? I don't think trump is an anomaly in terms of policy, just in terms of aesthetics. if Biden goes over then you very much have a realignment to an ethnic nationalist minority party in the GOP and a Conservative party in the dems and no actual left power at the executive level. that strikes me as gg until there's some sort of significant crisis or other factor that realigns things.

hell, I'm not really even sure that Biden losing would cause anything to really change with the dems. they're running the Clinton playbook again and appealing to respectability. what's bernie going to do, demand that Perez turns over the party to Nina turner if Biden loses? that'd be cool but I don't think they're going to be so eager to negotiate this time.

I don't think there is anyone in the GOP that has Trumps personality and TV presence. Any of those guys are stiff as board trump bandwagon guys who are literally nothing without a leader to imitate the talking points of. Honestly if we get another Trump it would come from the outside again, just buying into the party and relying on their public persona. Even the most hardcore new GOP recruits are running on just PASS TRUMPS POLICY AND MAGA

Most people thought Trump was a genius business man and charismatic because of a reality show.

So I'm not giving up and I fully believe that Bernie and the movement can still pull this out but the idea that if this election goes to Biden/Trump there is still something to fight for in upcoming down ballot tickets is blind optimism. There is no wait and see down the road to do anything about the climate, this is it. Starting at the state level to pull someone up in 8 years is to late.

Bernie or loving bust and if its bust then I'm out and heading to the family farm with the rest of my crazy hillbilly family.
