Yeah, I still go back to their second and third albums (ANThology and TruANT) from time to time. Their fourth album lost me, though. TruANT had a better spread of styles, and better hooks. Glow Tia Lupe Quiet

I'm dreading early 2000s nostalgia in a few years when people will get back into Limp Bizkit and other lovely rap metal bands.

I was into them until Chocolate Starfish. The only nu-metal band I still respect is Deftones. Maybe System of a Down, if they’d get back into the studio.

I could never not read this as "Bum Pits" KHLAV KALASHNIKOV posted:Maybe System of a Down, if they’d get back into the studio. That’s a bummer, I really liked the combination of Serj’s vocals and Daron’s guitar, it really stood out in the early ‘00s. Same for Chino and Deftones. Also, co-sign on a trance revival. For a good stretch after I gave up on rock, that was all I listened to.

At this time my dad got Digital Cable and got the mega pack that came with everything but HBO and the Porn channels, and there was an EDM music video channel and I used to watch it all the time while I painted warhammer stuff. They would play Scooter a lot. There were a lot of wacky specialty channels back then, but when I look at the digital cable channels available now, its way more homogenized. System of a Down is the only Rap Metal band I don't hate, because their anger came from a real place (Armenian Genocide) and not Fred Dursts angry at his dad for grounding him for having a joint in his pocket when he was 15 kind of anger.

Of all The Offspring songs, you chose one of the absolute worst...though from context, sounds like you were a teen so understandable, I suppose. I guess if it's going to be a "free" MIDI ringtone for a cheap Nokia, that's almost appropriate. I managed to never actually have any of those downloaded ringtones, cause my first phone was the cheapest-of-the-cheap monochrome flip-phone I got in late 2003 for an X-mas present. Even for 2003, it was outdated. As said, monochrome screen, no way to download ringtones, literally all it could do was call, T9 text, and I think it had a built in calculator and blackjack...not even any snake. D: I had it for 4 years until I finally upgraded to a really lovely Windows Mobile 5.0 phone with a slide out vertical keyboard.

I'm pretty sure this was from the late 00s and not the early 10s but I could be wrong about it. Did anyone ever download the "Achmed 'ring tone'"? It was pretty much a stereotypical middle eastern accent (badly done at that) guy saying "EEEEYYYYY KILL YOU!" Or something along those lines. I always saw it advertised late at night on non-major network tv channels. It seems like it was more of a 2000s thing just because you know, 911 and them allah people hate the god fearing white americans or whatever.
