Two cases in Harris County now, reported as travel-related rather than community acquired.

Yet like the rest of the country we're probably just as or maybe even more insanely prime for a great plague to sweep though than even densely populated China. Everyone is broke as hell and paid time off is either wishful thinking or in really short supply. gently caress around, visit a doctor for your weird infection, catch a bill for your pre-tax salary lmao

Everybody I know in Austin and San Antonio who works in any kind of retail or service industry is freaking out. That's so much money just not happening now. It's the right decision but drat is our economy not equipped to handle any part of a mass outbreak. Go to get pre screened get charged 1000's of dollars Democratic and Republican party leaders talking about making the vaccine affordable instead of just paying for it from the government Quarantines strain our gig economy because people don't make enough Just lol SirKibbles fucked around with this message at 05:12 on Mar 7, 2020 |

Pulcinella posted:Americans need more self respect. We deserve better than just not-Trump! Why are there people who are “I want to speak to your manager!”... except when it comes to politicians? Because for a huge amount of people, especially the people with power in media, capitalism is working just fine for them. They have no material problems to speak of, so they fixate on Trump's affectations as the ultimate ruination of their favorite reality show.

I've been thinking about this a lot. Are precinct captains supposed to contact registered Democrats in their precinct to make sure they go out and vote? I've never been contacted by one. Does that mean my precinct captain was appointed and has no interest in what he's supposed to do?

Kunabomber posted:I've been thinking about this a lot. Assuming you actually have one, yes. In both Denton and Tarrant Count there are a lot of open precincts and a lot of PCs that are just a warm bodies since no one else stepped up. That is also assuming you are in VANS and identified as a Democrat. If yours is PC is empty I can connect you with the right people to become the one for your precinct. Let me know your precinct number and I can look it up.

I'm precinct 2006. After handling several hundred people who don't know how to vote, I started wondering if there's anyone out there helping them out before they even enter a polling place. I plan on attending the county convention too. Having a young family makes it difficult for me to participate but I think it's time for me to carve out some time with some concessions from my wife.

Oh I've been in touch with the campaigns, sure. I just thought a PC would be more involved, or does he just maintain the list and make sure it's updated in VAN for campaigns to use? Does he make sure people know where they need to go to vote, and how to vote (like fill out the drat boxes, don't put checkmarks), etc? What about when something like precinct 2005 was shown on the secretary of state website as having rosemeade rec center as a voting location, which was incorrect, and this was corrected at 8 pm the day before the election? Who gets the word out about that? I was the election judge at rosemeade rec and I had to deal with that all day. Also, my information in VAN was incorrect for the first 2 years I was in my precinct too, I had to talk to Michelle Beckley personally to get that fixed lmao Sorry, I'm just so loving pissed at what I experienced. I've been through the 2018 elections but this primary was something else.
