I think like 100ft + of thin coiled plastic in a fridge with a pump would be easier to clean and cheaper (throw away buy new) than stainless steel. I gotta figure out the math but exchanging the water on a 50 gallon tank often enough to keep the temp in the low 50s when the ambient temperature for 1/4 of the year is 70 hopefully isn’t impossible. I’d feel awful if I slow boiled alive a crab buddy. Waste of meat.

Keep ammonia absorbing material, a power head and a bubbler running around the clock. I want to step up to a canister filter with chilling capability to keep a single buddy year round. They really are fascinating to watch and these guys are highly aggressive. All those guys are at least 6 inches across the shell.
